Hello, everyone!Alongside many of my favorite franchises in pop culture (like Super Mario, Spider-Man, and Toy Story)…… Harry Potter has always held a VERY special place in my heart. I honestly don’t think words can describe just how much the series means to me, but as someone who’s grown up listening to my dad read the 7 main Harry Potter books to me at bedtime, watching all of the movies as they came out (except for The Half-Blood Prince), re-reading all of the books myself since grade school, and playing a fair amount of Harry Potter video games as I’ve grown up (Years 1 and 3 on PC, Year 2 and Quidditch World Cup on GameCube, and Lego Years 1-4 on Wii)............... the epic and timeless story of those first 7 Harry Potter books has ALWAYS been one of my most passionate fandoms, especially whenever I need reminders about the TRUE POTENTIAL of long-term storytelling (looking at you and all of your mediocre sequels and live action remakes, Disney).
So, yeah. As it is with a LOT of people, Harry Potter has always meant a LOT to me. And while I’m not as obsessed with the recent announcement of a brand-new upcoming Harry Potter TV series on HBO Max as I am with last February’s announcement of Toy Story 5……………. The DIE-HARD Harry Potter fan inside me is still itching with curiosity to see if the ENTIRE Harry Potter series will finally be done PROPER JUSTICE in a new long-running TV series. That and in light of the announcement of the new HBO Max Harry Potter TV series……………… I’ve decided to FINALLY share one of my LONGEST Google Documents that I’ve poured the MOST love and dedicated passion into over the course of at least 4 YEARS: My VERY OWN interpretation of the ENTIRE Harry Potter Timeline (a.k.a. The MAIN 7 BOOKS ONLY, NOT THE MOVIES)! I REALLY HOPE YOU LIKE IT!
Please keep in mind that I first made this timeline back in 2019 when I re-read the Harry Potter books for the first time in a VERY LONG TIME, so it’s been QUITE A WHILE since I’ve made any edits to this timeline! If you see anything in this document that needs correcting, please let me know and I’ll do my best to correct it if I can!
In the meantime, here’s hoping that HBO Max’s Harry Potter TV series will FINALLY do the entire original Harry Potter book series PROPER JUSTICE (right down to ACCURATELY PORTRAYING Ron and Ginny’s characters)! Until then, just try to remember what Ginny told Harry when he needed to talk to Sirius in The Order of the Phoenix: “Anything’s possible if you’ve got enough nerve.”
