Description I refined and coloured a doodle of Lloyd from Ninjago that I made the other week.

First I become a weeb, then I fall headfirst into the Ninjago hole. I am a hybrid creature. Help me.

I find it rather funny that when I was messing around with Google Lens, it scanned the image and did not identify artwork, it started showing me "similar products"... those products being green sweatpants, dresses, and the like. Mostly dresses.

Not quite sure how to take that. :')

Either my clothing folds have improved more than I thought they did, Google is insane, or Lloyd is secretly wearing a dress. Probably a combination of all three.

Nevertheless, I'm really proud of the shading here. For some reason. Green light always looks cool, and I feel like I use yellow and red light way too much, so this was fun. I also finally got my shading under control... I only used one multiply layer for the shadows, then one screen layer for the highlights. That was it. You have no idea how overboard my shading layers used to be... it was an issue that usually cost me the competence of the drawing. :') Obviously different drawings call for different amounts of layers, but these old ones often had over twenty freaking layers. For Pete's sake.

The proportions of Lloyd himself aren't what I'd usually do, but it was a doodle, so what the hey.

And I love how his face turned out. (:
