what if a flufferbun cannot find a heart bond? Will it just look all grey/empty or something? Or is there a thing where flufferbuns develop a heart bond late in their life?

This is super helpful to me, thanks so much! I have had some trouble with putting together my own Bun for about a month, mostly because I was never totally sure how to make them.

Question! How much can we redesign our buns without changing them into gen 2 buns? And if we update the ref sheet, will they be converted into gen 2? .o.

well ideally, changing your gen 1 into a gen 2 would be best since gen 1 buns can no longer participate in group activities without being converted.
however everyone is allowed up to 2 full conversions. this means if you have gen 1 buns with now considered special traits you can convert them with those traits completely without needing to change anything.
however after those initial 2 full conversions, the rest of your buns will need to be changed to have open traits (which there are still alot so don't worry!)
or you can hold onto your other buns if they have special traits and participate in contests and events to earn upgrades / 7 \
but a lot of this is explained in the description of the main species guide, so that should help!

If I have just one bun with special traits, and three buns in total, do I still have to convert only 2 of them? (I didn't see this explained in the guide! If it is, I'm terribly sorry ;O; )

yep!! i wanted to make it so people with buns before still got a chance to fully convert their favorite buns without needing to feel held back c:
if you only have 1 of your old buns that would count for special traits, then you can just hang onto your other full convert in case you happen upon an old gen 1 bun that someone's traded or sold to you!
if your other buns have designs that would work with all of the open traits, you can just keep them the same or update them to have new traits if you want! as long as those traits are the open kind c:
