Description
Been some time, here's PMBO with another traditional artwork, of my One piece Oc's again!Drawing Anecdotes
Lately I've been into short and brief sketches, and I even experimented with a comic format, something which I haven't done since like on my beginnings
But during all that time I was pushing this work, from here I'll tell the story surrounding this image; Between Mary and Caterina's first contact. While at the same time infodumping some of their history
And just a promise, and is "redraw" this next year, on a "future scene", the same place but after a decade of this characters knowing each other!
....
It all goes back to Coral as protagonist of the story, she on the drawing being the Fishgirl feeding the birds. I'm yet fleshing out her story tied up with her whole family and her couple Guhya . A story I'd like to perhaps focus on slags of the past coming back and relationship dramas.
Skipping ahead to the way we'll be introduced to Mary. Coral had attain a weakening sickness, and after many hardships with Guhya she decided to retire on her home island on South blue with her daughters. It's here where they'll be detained for the first time by the Salamander army, only Caterina escaping

It's here where for the first time we'll see Mary, as part of the army special squad of the island which akin to Loguetown, was the last island before the entrance to the reverse mountain from West blue, known as a waterfall kingdom
It being up to Caterina and a rancorous Guhya (The only powerhouse) who have just made for antagonist for his own family, and is to make the right decision to save his family.

I'd let the details, consequences and outcome of this faceout foggy for now

After a year of the scar they attained on that island apparently healed, big would be their surprise as Caterina meet Mary apparently doing recognition of the islands they lived, under the guessings of one of her crewmates who suspected Coral didn't went far.
Their first contact was a fight, Caterina decided this place her mother retired to wasn't meddled with again, she losing to Mary's unusual devil fruit powers...
Barely recovered and by Coral's sister advice (Orange girl at Caterina's left), she focused on swim fast and seek out Mary before she told of their whereabouts.
Big would be her surprise when she'll see "her ship" not filled of Salamander themed man she'll fight to death, but a small blonde girl, with a pair of tendful pink faces thinking she was a castaway that climb up their ship; they were the Pinkbeard family!
And Mary, was a deserter.

Those are also Red-crested birds, to some extend, this drawing was fueled by a dream and a VERY old one. As a kid, I once dreamed gazing out of a window (To a forest), to see family members mine all separated of each other by like 5 square meters, each surrounded by animals of the region, this bird, snails, maned wolf. So I took this lingering dream I've had for this drawing
With some last note, I am doing quite the rewriting and changes with this drawing, I've already wrote a draft describing the events of involving that waterfall kingdom, but I consider them deprecated now!. As I learn more of One piece and desire made this Oc's more solid, so I think this is better
And lastly, I got greatly inspired by this calming album while drawing, named Entomongaku II!
For my next drawing, I feel compelled to do new avatars, finally evolve the Spheal of my Inuit avatar that I mean!
