First Appearance: Ristar ( Sega Genesis, 1995 )

The Son of the Star Goddess Oruto, with super stretchy arms. Ristar responds to a prayer made by the nearby planet Flora. When Ristar arrives, everyone is already under control of the evil space monster, Greedy Kaizer. Using his stretchy grabbing, flinging, headbutting, swinging, and climbing powers, Ristar travels the galaxy, freeing the planets from Greedy’s control, and ultimately confronts Greedy himself.

I remembered seeing this character within game magazine adds. I was interested because of his bright colors, and the smirk on his face which reminded me of Sonic, another character I loved as a kid.

Much later, Sonic Mega Collection included Ristar as an unlockable game, and I was finally able to experience it. ( As a Kid, I only ever got to experience Sega games through my Aunt’s console )

Although I did not fall in love with the game like I thought I would, it did prove to be an entertaining experience.
