Meanwhile, in the foreboding lair of Shadow Moth...

He conjures a butterfly into an akuma, infusing it with his dark energy.
Shadow Moth: Fly, my akuma, and bind her with threads of despair, turning people into puppets under her control.
The akuma finds its way to Marinette's room, where she's lost in her sorrow.
The akuma merges with a stray string Marinette is holding.
Shadow Moth: Greetings, Marinette.
Tikki: Resist, Marinette!
Shadow Moth: Surrender, my dear. Resistance is futile.
Marinette: I'm sorry, Tikki.
Shadow Moth presents an offer.
Shadow Moth: Marionette, embrace your newfound powers. Ensnare the hearts of people with your strings, turning them into puppets at your command. In return, Ladybug and Cat Noir's Miraculous shall be yours. Do we have an accord?
Marinette, overcome by despair, removes her earrings.
Marinette: Let puppets rise under my control!
Transformation unfolds as Marionette emerges.
She descends the stairs, casting her strings upon her unsuspecting parents and friends, building an army of puppets. Cat Noir stands defiant.
Cat Noir: Marinette, fight this darkness within you!
Marionette: Marinette is no more. I am Marionette.
Cat Noir pleads in desperation.
Cat Noir: Please!
Marionette's haunting voice echoes as she commands her puppets.

The controlled puppets surround Cat Noir as Marionette approaches, her eyes gleaming with an unsettling resolve.
