I so agree! I only watch a few cartoons now cuz most of them suck & Disney is kinda losing their taste, but KH was a pretty good move. I miss the way did alot of there animations. It was amazing how they did it. Now they've lost their magic touch. I want to see more movies like The Lion King & stuff & alot more Mickey & bugs. This is why I'm ordering animation guides from the people that use to work their & took part in animating those guys. I'm gonna lurn from the masters, yet I'm also studing Japanse anime cuz I want to combine Disney & Anime style together to create a new kind of style. I'm sick of seeing crappy things nowdays. We need a new style, but Anime ish good though. I think they need improvement on some things but to me its the best thing on tv now.

I love this pic, because it slams both Disney and Warner Bros., and rightfully so. Everyone picks on Disney for its recent lackluster movies and Direct to DVD cheapquel addiction, forgetting that Warner Bros. hasn't treated its animated properties any better (Baby Looney Tunes? Looney Tunes: Back in Action? And now, Loonatics Unleashed).
Fortunately for Mic and Bugsy, they still have their old classic stuff to fall back on.

I got enough of reading everyones coments.
I'm okay wit Loonatics. (Reminded me back in teh Looney Tunes days..)
I also miss 2D animated movies. (And big thanks ot Kimgdom Hearts for returning my Disney love... Realy.)
All I can say: Not interested with 3D works these days. T_T
And now have to stick with anime. (Sometimes with 4Kid's bad dubbings...)
And still watch animated movies today.. Well.. Not EVERDAY, but when certain of my classrooms need movies and i'm here with Disney cheers! *flowers in my side* X3
Such a fangirl I am, heh. *Hugs teh random Roxas*

The only thing Disney's REALLY been doing right lately is theme parks
As for Looney Tunes, they've ALWAYS had a problem with the local TV people. I thought Boomerang would be thier savior and were for a while until recently apparantly. No more Elmer fudd? He's like, Bugs' ultimate enemy *sort of* Not to mention some of my top favorite cartoons are the Bugs, Daffy, Elmers. Maybe it's a conspiracy to make us buy the DVD sets 'cause I certainly will now. I can't beileve we live in a world too stupid oops, I mean "PC" for Looney Tunes >>

Yeah, animation from the US is kinda getting...bad. I mean, I gagged when I heard about "Loonatics Unleashed." Quite frankly, the only great animations on Disney that really get my interest are Kim Possible and, much much more, American Dragon: Jake Long, whose animation actually came out not bad this season, as long as they do action sequences. But in general, truthfully, I'm pretty okay with most the animation of today. Anime is something that you can't bash, though; it's good almost all the time. But shows like that RIP-OFF, Coconut Fred, which is a total rip-off of Spongebob, which is now probably a classic. A lot of the good cartoons on Cartoon Network from US have been around for a while, such as good ol' Powerpuff Girls, that show that I stopped watching because of the doomed-for-failure antics, Ed, Edd & Eddy, or one of my favorites, Courage the Cowardly Dog. But some new ones just SUCK, like My Gym Partner's a Monkey, Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, and maybe Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends...although, that one is pretty cool, especially with the art style. For WB, I must admit: I have never, EVER seen a SINGLE episode of Johnny Test because I can tell from the commercials: IT. SUCKS. And the new Batman series...It's good, but definitely not as good as the awesome original animated series. THAT kicked MAJOR butt. As did Batman Beyond, which, despite being in the future and stuff, was still just as good. And Static Shock: THAT show was great; great enough to have multiple appearences by his future self in Justice League is very good, going along with Batman Beyond as well.
On Disney, a fair amount of the series suck, unfortionatly Lilo & Stitch being one of them as a series. The movie was awesome; the series sucks. Kim Possible and AD:JL are good because they've both got unique art styles, very well-established worlds and characters, great gags (Who can forget Jake's "Public domain songs make me sick." (or somewhere along those lines)?), and also, that key element in both series: Good action, which meets the series' goals as action shows. The other shows--admittedly, I haven't watched them much, but they really seem just...ugh. Buzz Lightyear's own series is a bit...stupid, that one with the rabbits is a bit stupid for my tastes as well, and other stuff...gah. Animation really seems to be going downhill for a bit. They're all over-popularizing on stuff that just lasts them a little while. Good old fashioned smooth animation and general silliness is what we need again. Running gags. ACME as it should be. Walking on air, looking down, and falling. THAT stuff.
...Right?
Btw, nice pic! ^_^ Tis funny, too ^^

I couldn't agree with that more. It's a disgrace, the cartoons they show these days. I used to love watching the Looney Tunes cartoons, and now they have this sorry-excuse-for-a-cartoon crap hogging all the air time... That's why the only cartoons (And they're not even techincally that, they're Anime!) I watch anymore are on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim. At least the Japanese still make 'em right... most of the time. By the way, would you believe that if they ever put the Looney Tunes back on TV, the networks all said that they'd edit them? That's right. They say that Elmer Fudd, Yosemite Sam, Wile E. Coyote, and a few of the other old time favorites are "too violent". Those are the best ones!! *glares at Disney and WB* At least they're releasing all the original cartoons on DVD, they way they were made the first time...

Ohhhh! An animation topic!
Well, Disney kinda dug their own grave when they decided to do the sequels. After loosing everybody's trust with that it kinda dumbed down the 2D industry. Everyone saw that the new 3D stuff was making big bucks because of Pixar, so all the companies decided to swith. Just because its in 3D though doesn't automatically make it a masterpiece. Uh....Valient. (Plus, a lot of Disney's later animation was REALLY serious in the 90s, but many of the films in the animation renaissance had lighthearted touch.) There used to be only movies in theaters came out in a year and a half, but when management took over the whole department they cranked it up to 2 movies per year! See...it became a money and profit issue rather than "Let's tell the best story we can to the world and have fun doing it!" ~__~
In short Pixar and Dreamworks are the new animation giants, and have left Warner Bros. and Disney in the dust. Sadness, but true. I noticed lately that when I went back to look back at a lot of early 90s TV animation it was very smooth and flowing like something you see in a film! Nowadays cartoon animation just got cheaper and they had to limit the movements more. Like compare Disney's first afternoon lineup with the stuff you have on Disney channel? I do like Kim Possible though.
I'll leave it at that.

I totally don't blame ya for this. For me, though, what totally angers me is the companies' decision to stop airing their old cartoons on TV altogether (just look at Cartoon Network and Toon Disney nowadays), and taking practically forever to put them on DVD. In fact, I'm starting to think that Disney's current management HATES the characters that made the company famous to begin with. At least Warner Bros. has In2TV to show "Freakazoid!" and "Histeria!", though.

Glad I'm not the only one who has noticed the trend of declining animation. Disney's given up traditional animation altogether. All weekday afternoon cartoon blocks have disapeared (except for those channels that regularaly show animation anyway). Cartoons have degraded into cheap little corporate gimmicks with very little in the way of innovation, if any at all, designed to make some easy cash off of the 10 year old audience, then get thrown out to make the next one in line. Almost all cartoons older than 3 years have disapeared from basic cable (it is impossible for me to get Boomerang in my area at all).
Though not all hope is lost. After Disney's next animated movie (Meet the Robinsons) They will start using newer types of digital technology, which according to initial reports will make their movies look more traditional "like a moving painting" starting with American Dog and Rapunzel Unbraided. Hopefully this will improve over the CGI look (which is ok, but I don't like it quite as much). As for WB, I don't know yet.

Yeah! It's a crying shame on how cartoons are nowadays. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying anything bad about Chicken Little or Loonatics Unleashed (I watched them both and there not that bad) but they seem to lacking something.
Chicken Little: Cute movie, but it wasn't and thing more but a old fairy tale just extended for 90-minutes.
Loonatics Unleashed: Every episode is just the same thing. I mean they improved on the end of the season and only time will tell if the show got any better.
If Warner Bros. and Disney stop thinking they can't live without Pixar and poorly made and dubbed CGI animation and anime. Then maybe they can shine like they used to.
