Words-1005

---

Trick didn’t remember much of how he ended back deep into the forest or that fact he was feeling dizzy and he didn’t watch where he was stepping and tripped head first into a hole.

He guessed due to his ether levels. He should have gone to the Care center. Why didn’t he go??!!

Trick landed with a hard thump onto his back, cursing slightly as he felt the back, hitting the ground hard. By the time he stared at the red sky from behind the tree branches, his vision was nothing but a blur and he fell into a deep sleep.

-----

Trick tries his best to ignore the rain that he now feels on his skin. Why now? Can’t he get up later? He moved his hands slightly and he felt the earth mush under him.

“ Can’t a folk get sl-Uh…” Trick stops mid sentence. Moving his hair out of his face to see if he really was seeing things or not. He looks around to be surrounded by graves, ruins and heavy downpours.Looking down, he noticed his body was covered in mud.

Suddenly, a noise of thunder startled Trick up. He hopped up, looking up at a red sky. Where was he?

He started to move, looking around at the ruins. He wondered if he was dreaming. This whole place seemed so real but also not.

Trick stopped walking to inspect a ruin, maybe there were words he could read. Something that could ground him. Despite feeling a bit wary, he liked to explore new places.

Suddenly, he heard breathing behind him and something not rain hit his head. A chill ran up the trick's body. He wasn’t alone like he thought….

A large creature stood behind him, eyeing him. Though, it was a bit hard to tell from the rain.

Usually, as a prey species, Trick would have ran, but he didn’t. It was like this being was waiting for him to speak.

Trick took a breath. He wants to get to the bottom of this. He needed to know why he was and he had a feeling he was here for a reason.

“Hello? Are you not or are you going to hurt me? Uh, friend or foe?”

Trick uses one of his arms to shield himself from the heavy rain trying to get a better look at the creature in front of him.

“ Not… going to hurt...friend.” The large creature echoed back to him. It kinda sounded like him but also not. It lowered its large head and moved slightly closer,  as if using its large body to shield him from the rain.  Its teeth clicked together as it spoke.

“. Do you have a name? “Trick asks, noticing the creature's body had stuff leaking from it, he wondered if this being was hurt and looking for help. He wanted to come off as kind as usual, so he thought of trying to do small talk.

“You..name?” The creature continued to watch him. Though, it looked a bit frustrated as it shook its head a bit.

It didn’t take too long to realize this creature was using his words to talk. Trick decides he should pick his words to help out. Maybe ask what this being wants. It didn’t seem violent, but he felt they must have held power.

“ My name is Trick. Do you need any help from me? “

“ Help.. me..”

Trick was about to speak, A flash of lighting startled him again. He  shivers with the cold. He had no clue how this being was just standing there. The creature doesn’t even flinch, but it raises one of its large arms over and Trick understands and slowly comes over and he’s finally out of the rain fully.

“ Do you want to talk?Do you want anything from me?Need help?”  Trick finally speaks,  hoping for his words to make a sentence “Yes or no?”

“....What do you.. need?”

Trick felt something. He didn’t know why he wanted to be open, but he did it anyway.

“Everyone I feel is afraid of me. This blight… it feels like a burden sometimes. I want others to accept me for who I am. Sometimes I feel so lonely and scared.Do you understand?“

“ I …want to accept …you. “ The creature echos, teeth clattering again, “I.. understand… “

“Hah, I guess you do. “ Trick wipes a few stay tears he didn’t know that were rolling down his cheeks, “You’re not so scary. Do you need a friend? “

“..Friend..”

“Yeah. You seem just as lonely as me.” Trick reaches out and touches one of the claws, feeling a sense of power, making his fingers tingle a bit. He felt like this being wanted something more. Much more.

“If you ever need anything, I'm your folk. Anything I can try too.I appreciate your time. Some reason I think I can trust you. “

For a minute or two, they both sit in the rain, Trick feeling a lot happier, by his new friend. Even if this was just a dream, he felt like a burden was lifted on him. He wondered if he could figure out this creature's name with a bit more effort.

His moment was cut short as the creature stood,  “Time..”

Trick stood up,  quickly speaking, “Wait time? Do I have to go? Will I meet you again? Yes or no? Please, tell me more. Don’t leave.“

“..Meet …again..yes…no time..” The creature echoes for the final time, “Don’t tell.”

Suddenly the ground from beneath Trick crumbled and he fell,  feeling a tiredness again and he closed his eyes. The sensation of one of those dreams when you fall and ‘ hit the ground’ causes him to jolt back awake and he wakes up slightly to find himself back in the hole he fell before.

He just yawned and curled up, very tired. He wasn't scared. He hoped he would see them again.

Perhaps he should not talk about this. Something is nagging him if he does, he might endanger himself.
