Description This was my final painting in Color Theory when I was at SCAD. We were supposed to explore the effect of light on color. Well, whenever I get an assignment that open-ended, inevitably I think of how I can work horses into it. This is a fictional arrangment of three stallions owned by a couple of friends of mine, though mostly only in their colors. From left to right: Ringo, Henry and Did. Ringo was a Tennessee Walker, and Did and Henry were percherons (obviously I didn't paint them to scale!). Ringo died of EPM about six years ago, and Did had a heart attack in 1997, but I'm not sure about Henry. He'd be a senior citizen by now if he's still around — about twenty-seven or so.

This is acrylic on canvas. This painting originally had a 2" white border around it, but my wife thought that looked idiotic, so I repainted it out to the edge of the canvas.
