I'm 19 years old and I live in the United States of America - A place with opportunities I want a chance at pursuing; But a place that doesn't care. I'm an illegal immigrant/alien. My dad is helping me fix my papers. Only after my Mom and I tracked him down online and sued him for child support. We didn't sue before because he threatened to call INS (Immigration) on us and have us deported. But as I neared the time I was to attend college, we had to sue him. But instead of money (which we did need, as my Mom works two jobs, yet still we live paycheck to paycheck). He wasn't too pleased, but petitioning me was far more cheaper than child support. We were interviewed, and I was denied. Because they had wanted proof of a relationship before I turned 18. Proof, like child support. HA. Is it my fault he wasn't a good dad? Why punish me for his lack of caring and responsibility? Apparently, a paternity test isn't proof because it isn't valid or whatever after the age of 18. I can't go to school or work. You're probably wondering, why don't I just go back where I came from, huh? Well, your ignorance of the world outside your little bubble is quite pathetic. I may not have crossed the desert or come on a boat rising my life, but I worked hard at making a better life here. Whereas, some citizens actually waste what they were given. All I want is to go to school for nursing, get a job at a hospital, and pay my Mom for all the sacrifices she has made for me. Unfortunately, I don't think this 2nd interview will go too well. There isn't any proof! Who knew that when I was a kid, that I should have taken pictures when I was at his house? Or made sure I got a receipt for The Beauty and the Beast tape he had bought me? He isn't a good father, but I guess America likes him better.

My 2nd interview is on the 19th of November. If I am once again, denied, I'll kill myself. I'm tired. I'm frustrated and confused with the System. I'd rather die than be deported.
