I know the microscopic scales I find are from 380-382 million year old ray finned fish. I can tell by the shape of the scales what part of the fish the scales came from. Most of the scales are from a small ray finned fish similar to the late Silurian Andreolepis. But I do not know what the fish looked like. I drew some Devonian and Carboniferous ray finned fish from memory to show how diverse they were. A and C are Carboniferous, B and D are Devonian. D is supposed to be Tegeolepis, the largest and most interesting of Devonian ray finned fish. Despite being up to a meter long, it's scales were micromeric like a shark.
