I wanted to practice my brushwork again so I picked a reference photo and stared painting. I gave him red hair because why not.
I am not sure why I picked a face as reference, since I don’t usually draw humans.
It’s not bad considering that I have almost no experience drawing humans, but then again, this is just simple reference study (they are generally far more easy than drawing from imagination, since it is basically just replicating what you see). There is something about this that doesn’t look like the photo though and I can’t tell what it is. (But as long as I don’t show the reference at the same time nobody will notice, I think… )
