Description
I always wanted to be able to draw rocks, but since "rocks" is a little too general I decided to start with something a little less ambiguous. For this practice I looked at pictures from the rosse rocce (the "red rocks"). These rocks (like the name might suggest) are made out of red Porphyr. They are a well known rock formation in Arbatax (Italy) and look beautiful, especially when the sun sets, which makes them look even more red then they already are.
The biggest problem I had while practicing was making them look natural and random (so basically making them look like a rock and not like some really weird brickwall). I think I did it in the end.
I've had massive trouble drawing rock formations (well who am I kidding I still have ...), but I think I really improved in this one.
