Description
After making three deviations about mapmaking it’s time to finally get back into painting. Since I like drawing landscapes I have searched for some videos online and found a video from Tyler Edlin called “Art tips & techniques : Deconstruction sketches”. In it he analyses a photograph and then paints it again, changing things to make it look better than the original photo. He jokingly called what he was doing “art directing nature” and I thought that sounded kind of fun, so I wanted to try it. I did it in grayscale since I am still trying to get better at using values.

Tyler is an awesome artist so check him out. (Especially if you want to get better at painting digitally and doing concept art and illustrations. I really like what he does. This kind of fantasy conceptarty illustrations is exactly what I would like to be able to do one day. Guess I’ll keep practicing )
I will upload the photograph I used along with a bit of my drawing process next week.
If you have any feedback let me know
