*A few minutes later* Ok so our adopted daughter's name is Chanlina, huh "moonlight". What a pretty name. Tell us Chanlina do you have a brother?
Chanlina: Yes, his name is Nimol.
Me: That's great Cha...*interrupted by Chanlina*
Chanlina: But, 2 years ago some bad men in black came to my village & took all the boy, including my brother Nimol, away when Mommy & Daddy tried to stop them the bad men killed Mommy & Daddy right in front of Chanlina's eyes. I then wander around until I came here a year ago. *tears start well up in Chanlina's eyes.*
Me: Hey don't cry, We find Nimol ok?
Me: Right honey?

Me: Ok then let's go an ask the United Nations Advance Mission in Cambodia (UNAMIC) if they've heard of or seen a boy named Nimol.
*Gives Chanlina a piggyback ride to lighten her spirits & heads towards UNAMIC HQ in the camp.*

UNAMIC Personnel: Hello there.
Me: Hi we are here to adopt this little girl, Chanlina & also to help find her big brother, Nimol.
UNAMIC Personnel: Ok then follow me a we'll get the adoption process started. In addition, I'll try I find out if we can't find Nimol, by the way the name's Carl. * Carl said, smiling Chanlina when he finished about trying to find Nimol. This making Chanlina perk up*

Me: That was grueling.
Carl: Yeah, sorry about that it's been a while since I've done it. Anyway I did find a file on a Nimol; says he in a refugee camp 5 kilometers south of this one, says he is 12 years old & that he has a 6 year old sister, and it said he was a child soldier from 1978 to 1979. It also says the UN staff at the camp are trying to bring him, along with others, back - as in trying to undo the brainwashing that had been done by the KR.

Me: Let's go to him & maybe adopt him as well, can you tell us what the nearest city/town is in between the camps is.
Carl: Okay, but watch out for any KR & the nearest city/town is Laem Sing it's a resort town.
Me: Thanks. Wait, you mean to tell me there are Khmer Rouge between here & the camp Nimol is at?!?
Carl: I'm afraid so...but there is good news.
Me: And what is that?
Carl: They only operate on the Road 3154 between Chanthaburi & Laem Sing at night.
Me: Okay, so we just have to avoid 3154 at night. Perfect *sighs*.
Me: I don't suppose you have any Peacekeepers to provide us security?
Carl: We do, in fact we have an 80 peacekeepers not on duty right now. I'll call their commander & see if I can't set something up.
Me: Thanks but I thought only the UN Secretary General or the Security Council had authorization.
Carl: You seem like nice people, so to hell with that.
Me: Again thank you.
Carl: Anytime, Oh wait I didn't catch your names?

Carl: Okay guys I've got in contact with the local Peacekeeper commander, Commander Vlad Virkosni.
Me: He a Soviet?!?
Carl: Yes & the rest of the 79 Peacekeepers are from the Warsaw Pact nations.
Me: What?!?!
Carl: The USSR & the Warsaw Pact actually supplies a vast majority of humanitarian aid to Cambodia.
Me: I thought it was the United States.
Carl: Nope, I've learned the sad truth...that the USA extends military assistance to non-communist groups resisting Vietnamese occupation. But the fact is, much of the U.S. aid is given to Pol Pot & the Khmer Rouge.
Me: I can't believe that!
Carl: Well its true.
Me: In any case that's no concern of mine, BB, or our little Chan-Chan (my nickname for her, which I just came up with right now). At least not our immediate concern. Anyway, when will they arrive?
Cmdr. Virkosni: We have just arrived, my friend.
Me: Fantastic! But you do know our destination, right?
Cmdr. Virkosni: But of course.
Me: Then let's get to it!

Me: Thanks! *The group of 4 starts to look for Nimol.*

Nimol: Chan-Chan who are those two? *Looking at Me & BB*
Me: Hello, Nimol. I'm Alpha-Squid & this is blackblade94 *gestures over to BB*. We are your sister's adopted parents and, if you'll allow us, your adopted parents.
Nimol: *Breaks down & starts to sob* I never thought I be part of a family again. Ever the Khmer Rouge took me away, all I've ever known was pain, suffering, & brutality. Except from my captain, Nironn Samorn, he was the only KR who was kind to me & he was the one who got me here. He told me to not give up on my sister. And that's what was keeping me going, you Chan-Chan.
Capt. Aldo: I'll radio Kommandant Virkosni & tell him the good news.

Cmdr Virkosni: That is wonderful news comrade! We'll be right over.

Carl: I decided to come along & get Nimol adopted for.

Carl: Well I got back into my groove & you're welcome.
Me: Okay, so everyone let's get to Cmdr. Virkosni & rest *Sees Virkosni & company near the outskirts of the refugee camp & walks towards him*.

Me: But I thought, since you're a Soviet & all, that be fine with them.

It is just that 1 year ago I myself had adopted a little Kampuchean girl, her name was Chivy meaning Life, she was only 3 years old and my wife, Alena, was/is infertile. Me & my men had just rescued her & couple of other survivors from a Khmer Rouge cooperative aka a forced-labor camp, while the KR there were battling VPA soldiers, when after embracing little Chivy a KR sniper not fighting the VPA who noticed us a shot her in the head *Virkosni now sobbing & weeping*...when we captured him, I took it upon myself to shoot him. I did it...but I keep on shooting his corpse, it took Captains Aldo & Avilov to stop from wasting my entire clip. So you can see why I had such a hostile reaction to your comment earlier Squid.
Me: My god, I'm so sorry. That's one the most saddest stories I ever heard. *eyes full of tears but trying to holding them back to look strong in the eyes of my adopted children*

Chan-Chan: I hope she's not miserable, sad, or frightened in her next life & that she's very happy; surrounded by people who love her!!! *beaming up at Virkosni*
