Description
A commision for and her Oc Yazad. I really enjoyed drawing this guy because it's rare for me to draw arabic/persian motives and it's something new
EDIT:
This character is close to persian look. I mean he is not persian but if I wrote he is japanesee you'd probably notice that his clothes is not japanese, if I'd say he is european, you might say, : nope because he is yellow.
So just let me quote the commisioner :
"Actually, he is not "Persian" as he is a part of a completely fictional world I built. He's not going to be completey Persian or Indian because his design is a mix of various things."

haha yeah! I guess people just assume all middle easterns have some tint to their skin :3 its with best intentions, though, so its okay ^-^

He's really pale for a Middle Eastern person. Β They're not as dark as, say, India, but still not as pale as pale, northern Asians (which is what he looks like)

I'm of Persian descent, and I'm very white. I'm more pale than my German friend actually, however my skin tone is more yellowy/olivey in comparison. I think the facial features are really the only thing you can tell from my ancestry. (Mostly the nose, hair & eyes). : D
Also it depends on what part of Persia you would've hailed from. Persia was a large country, and got close to Russia, which is predominantly "white". So idk sorry if you've gotten a lot of messages over this haha.

I have gotten a surprising amount of reply to my comment, hahaha! Β But I sure don't mind one bit! Β It's a great learning opportunity for me to hear from real Persians! Β I've worn pants all my life, and once when in shorts, my Bulgarian friend commented how my Far East thighs are paler than her Caucasian arms, but somehow different kind of pale. Β It's like you described, pale has different kinds!Β

i don't think it has as much to do with the skin color, as it does the facial features.

Not necessarily I'm Persian and my mother is so pale that people think she is Nordic, she has super light blonde hair and grey eyes! (no mixing) and my dad (also Persian) is super tan with dark hair, skin and eyes. little do people know is that we Persians come in one of the worlds widest variety of shapes and colours. And no, my mother is not one of the rare ones (I have met many). I think what you are saying is that our undertones are not the same as, lets say a European who has red, olive and blue undertones (due to thin skin and weather damage), we have more creamy undertones (reds, olives and yellows).

That sounds very interesting! Β I've only met a handful of Persian people in my life, and already they don't look very similar to each other. Β Hopefully one day I can visit Iran.Β

He looks great, but he looks very Japanese compared to Persian. If you went with a yellow/tan pigment further than a peach/white skin tone, I think it would be solvable.
But then again, this is a commission, so you don't have much control.

Don't be afraid to try new ethnicities, ok. :3 Very nice, but dive a lil deeper and experiment.

its very very beautiful work, i like it, but is it persian?? i'm persinan but we dont& didn't wear like that, its mostly looks like indian people, his hair style... his vest... his shoes all all is fantastic but not persian...i'm envious of you

Looks great. My only criticism is that it looks like his shoes are on the wrong feet, because of the points going toward the outside edges of the shoes.
