Yeah, I used to have a really hard time with hips and getting them to look right with the legs and waist.
I can't say for sure how long ago that stopped being a problem, but it was a combination of practicing and just getting a better grasp on anatomy-- not just trying to duplicate what I see, but understanding why it looks the way it does.
