As nas1234567890 previously stated, this looks EXACTLY like a Photoshop filter. Maybe your filtering photos, then doing the art work in acrylic? Either way, it's not that great.
I'm not trying to insult you, I just don't believe this deserved a daily deviation, and half of the comments agree with me.

I'm sorry, but how did this get a DD?
This looks like a posterized image in Photoshop, anyone could do this with the click of a button (no joke, look up posterize images. Takes 2 steps in a span of 30 seconds). In fact, most of this person's works look like posterize images (NOT vectors/vexels). Even if he did in fact draw this using stencils, it's not worthy of a daily deviation. I could post links to 100 pieces made in the past week that are way more deserving.

I'm sorry to break it to you but its not a posterized image,
its clearly done with acrylics, and obviously not anyone could
do work like this or they would be doing it, and i'm afraid to tell
you i went through your gallery your punk image i just a filter over the
real image. And to finish off the people here on DA obviously thought it was
worth a DD or it wouldn't have got one

lmfao my "punk image" isn't a filter. If you look at the rest of my work, you'd know to bite your tongue before saying such an ignorant comment. Such a facepalm moment...
Most of the people saying "Awesome!" and "great work!" don't know any better, pal. Take a look at their galleries, compared to the people telling you this is a posterized image, and you'll know that WE are the ones who know what we're talking about.
Acrylics or not, you posterized an image in Photoshop. You can doubt it, but anyone who takes the original image would get the same result with the press of a button.
Congratulations on the DD. It's the only one you'll be getting if you continue to produce art the way you do now

No the rest of your work is very well done like the vexel of the wolf
or your vector of the skull for element, the punk image is out of place
it just looks like threshold and then you changed the colour for each one.
I'm sorry to tell you but they do know better because alot of them do street
art and they know what is intaled to do something like this. well all i can say to
you then is everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

I kind of have to agree with you. Even with find edges to make a lineart stencil and all, this would still take only a few hours to paint. I had to do two of these for my color and design class.(1 of a pic provided and 1 of my own self portrait) The pic provided in class took about 5 hours, and the self portrait took about 30(more value shapes).
Something like this is a great way of practicing value matching, which is a handy skill. The color choice(monochromatic red) is a good choice to convey mood.(point there)
I would suggest challenging yourself by adding more layers, and adding background to future projects.

on the other hand, your standards of quality on art are completely based on the number of hours making a pic takes. It actually depends on the moderator standars of what deserves a DD and what dosent.

Actually, there are not completely based on the number of hours it takes to complete a pic. There are people who can produce phenomenal pics within hours. Some may take longer.(I happen to be one of those) I mentioned how long it took me to do similar projects as means of expressing that I have experience with this sort of technique.(I didn't convey that very well, sorry) It's not a particularly difficult technique, but it can be tedious. It is in a way like paint by numbers.
Though I may not agree with it getting a DD(not sure how those are selected anyway. *shrug*) I do thing there are some good qualities to it, mood as expressed by color, technique(it is very clean for acrylic paint). I also mentioned that this sort of project is great for practicing value matching, which is taking color and mixing it to the appropriate value of the grayscale image.
That is my opinion. Does it change anything? No, but I have a right to express it none the less. There are actually many pieces I feel similarly about, but there are also pieces that I feel do deserve DDs. It might have helped if the moderator posted why they picked this piece, but I also know they, and respect, that they don't have to justify their choices.

Intersting... well, I am notta gonna agree or disagree with you on if this deserves a DD or not. Its kinda hard to argue against a so well explained oppinion! xDDD. You got a point on what you say. But on the other hand, for me is more like "what the hell", the pic is good, it actually made me laugh a little bit (dont ask me why). And I find the pic good enough considering the techinque and colors choosen are actually very suitable for the character. But dunno, I guess you are right on what you say after all...

That's the beauty of an opinion, there is no right or wrong. It's only when an opinion is being passed off as fact when it becomes...well an argument.
Technique isn't the sole basis to which art is judged. Art is also judged on concept.(Look at modern art)

I think opinions more commonly become the center of an argument because opinions are made based on experiences and facts, which statistical value and scientific integrity can be measured with more objectivity than their product.

This is true. Arguments, traditionally, are opinions supported by facts. At least the good ones are. Arguments become weak when opinions are used as facts.(or when fallacies enter the picture, but that's another ball game.)
