Dude that's awesome!!! I love it! These characters don't get enough recognition. Interesting that his name is Mash. In the American version he was named Sabin. I just think it's interesting that they changed his name.

Like the other's before me, I had no clue Sabn was called Mash. :'D Infact, when I first saw this, I... knew that was sabin next to Edgar, but thanks to this name, I could not remember for the life of me what was his name that I'd gotten used to!
Eitherway, this is gorgeous, gorgeous! Really love Edgar and his weapon in particular! The hilt!!!!!

In fact, in Japanese version his name is MASH. I don't know why they change his name in English version. First time I played this game, it was a Japanese version, so I use to call him MASH.

It was probably similar to how Tina was renamed to Terra; just sounded better for the English language version.
