Description
This is a drawing I copied for my art history class. The original is called Prometheus Bound by Peter Paul Rubens (1577-1640). I chose to focus in on just a portion of the painting where the eagle plucks on Prometheus' liver. According to Greek mythology, Prometheus stole fire from the Gods and as punishment he was chained to a rock where an eagle plucked at his liver each day that had gone by.Done with charcoal and colored pencil on bristol board
