Description William laughed at me from his cell

My father was that way as we drove
(With his whole and nothing held back!)
His own shock passed away quick with merriment
He reached to scratch his head, smiling
And came back bloody
I turned to face the dashboard
And listen to his slumped silence

Black eyes and white teeth shine

The only logical conclusion was madness
But when they finally found him
Window-leaner
Glass-shatterer
Shot-sounder
He shrugged his shoulders uncontrollably laughing
Curls bouncing

Black eyes and white teeth shine

My mother was nowhere near
She was driving fast
I should have been older
We could have made it a road trip together

William laughed at me from his cell
“You poor bastard”, I said.
And I laughed with him
Curls bouncing
Black eyes and white teeth shine

(And the girl can’t shake the feeling
That she’s known this boy before.
That he’s been around in the crowd,
A hyena howling.
And she can’t get the words right.
Because you can’t read frightened hysterics.)

Sob the next few lines.
(Not melodramatic,
But with the compassion that they deserve.)
Pity the boy:
I am William.
I never had a father.
I never had a shotgun.
My mother is in the car running,
And I am laughing at you from my cell.
Curls bouncing
Black eyes and white teeth shine

Wow. I can't even begin to describe my infatuation with this...the repetition is fantastic, the shift in perspective is fantastic, the way you play with grammar. This is genius.
