Junji Ito is probably the only one who managed to visualize Frankenstein's creature as both book-accurate and monstrous-looking. Whenever artists or film-makers design a look accurate to the book, it ends up being too pretty. And if they make the creature look scary or unsettling, it's not usually book-accurate. Drawing ugly and creepy people is very difficult, but if anyone can do it, it's Junji Ito.
