Bluemoon's egg was laid on a night of three full moons and hatched on a night of three full moons, thus named after the extremely rare occasion. His powers are extremely strong as a result. As a seer, he has a clear view of most possible futures, can pick out which ones are the most likely, and can even navigate the steps that lead to these futures. He has visions of futures far beyond him. As a mindreader, he can hear what a dragon is thinking, but can also feel their rawest emotions, and predict a dragon's actions several seconds ahead of time.

Bluemoon is unable to cope with his abilities and, as a result, flees the Night Kingdom to go into hiding. He is gloomy, selfish, and a remarkable pessimist. He often lapses into states of being nonverbal.
