Description

I have three Avatars, so I figured I might as well try to sell one already painted. I never been a fan of the plume so around 1999, when I probably started to work on this one, I removed it. Nowadays I'm more concerned about keeping intact the original miniatures, so I'd never even think about removing a single detail, let alone modify it. In fact I'm really pissed I did a lot of miniature butchery in my youth.

Anyway, here's a fast painted Avatar on which I experimented a bit. The model has sentimental value, but the sculpt itself it's showing its age. Badly, I'm afraid. I both fear and anticipate the day when GW will do a new one. I'm picturing something too big and complicated, full of flames and wisps of smoke. Hopefully I'm wrong...

The base is made with Superfine Milliput and a Green Stuff World's Eldar Rolling Pin.

Citadel Colours used:

Body: Mechanicus Standard Grey, Contrast Medium, Basilicanum Grey, Dawnstone, Administratum Grey, Blood Angels Red, Bloodletter, Wild Rider Red, Lugganath Orange.

Joints and cracks: Averland Sunset, Blood Angels Red, Dorn Yellow, Bloodletter.

Decorations, horns and hilt: Wraithbone, Contrast Medium, Skeleton Horde, Pallid Wych Flesh, White Scar.
