Well, this is my second attempt at computer art and I think it turned out pretty good. I am not the biggest fan of Envy because of what he did to Edward, but Wendy Powell (his english voice actor) did a creepily awesome job voicing him.When I was at A-kon I got her to sign the line art of this drawing. She seemed to reallly like it and even showed it to Chris Patton, but I wish I had had a finished one to give to her.
Drawn and inked on paper, then photographed and colored in photoshop. I used a great stock photo as reference by Wolfcatstock [link]

Really, neither am I, but I had to draw something for Wendy Powell to sign while I was at A-Kon. I greatly prefer Edward over Envy any day

I think that you are improving so fast you'll become Jesus at digital art in a year. That's simply amazing, no one can even possibly tell that it's your 2nd digital piece.
You use a mouse, correct? It looks so smooth and clean, like tablet work. Do you use selection tools/pen tool to create the shadows? The cell shaded look is very fitting and once again, I marvel at how well you placed the shadows according to the lighting (in his hair for example, which is my favorite part)
I definitely like the light rays, it gives a nice effect. However, the way the light is so muted and disgustingly greenish in color would change the shadow and highlight colors dramatically. The shadowed area would be thrown into a deeper, colder color, and the colors (skin tones especially) would be tinged with an unhealthy green.
One other thing I'd like to point out is that his head (his face) is too big for the body. You do a great job with anatomy, particularly the curves of muscles and the dynamic pose he's in, but watch out for the over-sized head issue.
It's a good piece, even though I don't really know FMA, but this character looks very interesting and the way you portrayed him must be symbolic and different from the usual, that I can tell.

Oh, a tablet and pen you say? That's excellent, I've been practicing coloring with a mouse (I think I'll post one up) and my hand is sore. I pretty much understand the tools, but I stick to the ones you mentioned as well. I only wish I had quickmask and the Pentool in my Elements version.

Ah! That IS a very good picture as you said in your comments. And it's definitely good for being your first few computer-colored works.
If you want a critique of some kind, I can say that on his right hand the pointer finger is a little short, and on the right leg, it looks like he only has four toes. Oo; The only other thing I can think of is that on that right leg, his knee is too high up his leg, unless you used a model that really looked like that. (I've had that happen, lol)
Though I do have to say that my coloring of shine and shadow was not that good on my first couple pictures. Really good job! Keep up the good work, I think you have great potential.

Your facial structure has markedly improved.
The shading of his clothing, hair, and the "arms" was well carried out, and the light-effect from above the subject is very pretty.
His toes seem a little off though.

The lighting was a little tricky for me at first and had to be erased a few times before I felt it looked appropriate.

SO AWESOME!! The whole thing is perfect. I LOVE his position. His hands and feet look great. My fav part is his expression. It is so not an expression Envy would have, but I love it. Normally I don't think Envy is that cute, but I have to say he looks pretty dang cute in this pic. I also like how his hair is flowing while he's falling. You did a good job with the hands grabbing him, I like the shine they have on them. The lighting is fantastic, I really like the ray on his hair. LOVES IT!!!

So sweet!! I think you noticed everything I wanted to be noticed. I'm so glad his anatomy turned out so well. Hands and feet can be a pain sometimes to draw, but that hair of his really took forever to ink! I liked how it ended up though.
I have to agree with you, Envy isn't the cuttest charater out there, and it wonderful that you think he is here. For some reason I really like the light ray across his hair to.

I really love that damn outstretched arm. I don't know why. I just need to stare at it some more. And then love it. Love it long time. :d
