Eyheey! It's time for my very first contest - and it's a very special one, a very special!
Pick a race, design your own character and win!
-PRIZES OVER 4000 POINTS!-DEADLINE - EXTENDED!- DEC 2. 23:59 CESTif the threathening deadline kept you from joining, now there's a month extra to work!
So. Let's see what is this thing about:
My watchers probably know that my friends and I work on a homebrew paper and pencil roleplay (Domhan) based on Dungeons and Dragons - and so we designed various races, species, monsters, deities, countries, kingdoms and dimensions of reality.
I hit 200 watchers in February and I wanted to make a contest ever since, but only recently figured out the perfect theme: Domhan! The project we have been working for years and incredibly close to my heart.
The Contest is fairly simple: Pick a race, design a character (or two, three, and so on) and ... well, that's it! You can draw simply a character, two characters interacting, battle scene, whatever. I won't limit your creativity. It doesn't have to bee full body either. You can draw head, bust, whatever you feel comfortable with. Also, these races are open for everyone, you can use them as an inspiration anytime after the contest too, design OCs and so on. So basically you can draw anyone, anyhow doing anything if this /these person(s) are from the races below. This simple

Share the journal (pretty please, I'd sooo happy to get as many people involved as possible)
We are creating a player's booklet for playing purposes (non-profit, non-officially published, nothing serious, just printing out a few pages) so please let me know if you are okay with including your art too as an illustration.
OF COURSE with proper crediting.
If you are not comfortable with that, it's okay, you can still participate and win the big prize
This booklet will be uploaded and will be free to use, but probably won't be translated to English
(if you are a Hungarian-English translator, who is horribly bored, you're more than welcome to adapt our player's book to English)
Rules (more likely what not to do)
no traces, bases, copying and so on
we sadly can't accept literature, photo manips, photography
if you are doing traditional, please make sure that the photo you take is high quality
We can't accept NSFW and hard-core gore
and yep, you can submit more than one entry

Races of Domhan - THE ULTIMATE REFERENCE SHEET( say thank you for @GreySparkle for the idea) MAGIC The magic of Domhan is more or less elemental magic - we have the following elements:
FIRE
WATER
EARTH
AIR
LIGHTNING
DARKNESS
LIGHT
BLOOD/FLESH
ICE Races in alphabetical order: ARK'SEGUTH Motherland: Seguth Andur Classes: Hunter, Sage Preferred weapon: Spear; Hunting bow; Trident; Agretur (a spear like weapon made out of antlers); fang-whip
Magic: ice magic Key characteristics: autonomous; reserved; lives in harmony with nature
Average height: a bit over 2 meters So, Ark'Seguths. We met them before, just as background characters in the story of the Faelds and Kad...
(This is the ultimate reference sheet with all the details you probably need - use it wisely)
And use it, please.
Ark'Seguths
Close-to-nature hunters and ice magicians from the tundra of Seguth Andur who refuse any kind of leadership and follow the path of the wild.
Subclasses:
- Hunters (Headhunters and scouts)
- Sages ( healers and historians)
Also, the only race I colored.
Other illustrations:
Faelds
Highly trained, highly intelligent warrior mages, with fancy horns and glowing eyes. The ultimate masters of elaborate magic trick and arrogance.
Subclasses:
- Spellfighters ( soldiers and guardians wielding both deadly weapons and magic)
- Spellmasters (the name says it all)
other reference pictures:
Kadmets
The savages of the prairies, bloodthirsty nomad barbarians, worshippers and heirs of the thousand Gods.
Fast, deadly and... even more deadly.
Subclasses:
- Warriors (your everyday Kadmet cutthroats, wielding two equally sharp swo
rd in their two equally dexterous hands)
- Ritefighters ( the choosen figthers and successors of the gods - probably aiming to become god too)
Kromats
Priests and Inquisitors from the muggy Shandaran jungles are here to spread the word of the great Dragon Deities. They are equally skilled orators and sneaky and agile fighters.
subclasses:
- priest/priestess ( they speak the word of the dragons)
- inquisitors (they spread the word of the dragons - even if you don't want to hear)
- Shariman warriors ( they fight for the dragons- and also just tries to survive in the jungle)
Laers
Shapeshifter bards and pilots from the flourishing land of Laederran. The nicest guys of all, if not in bear-thing shape.
They either steal your girlfriend or eat your girlfriend. (or boyfriend, sure)
Subclasses:
- Bard ( well... we all know bards, right?)
- Stinger ( or, simply wasp pilots. Yep, they travel around on huuuge black wasps)
- Distiller master ( Not the average alchemist since they mainly brew alcohol)
- Alchemist (if they are not in the mood to brew alcohol)
reference picture:
Saltusians
The Saltusian Order of Knights is the police of Domhan. Saltusians are strong, sturdy folks, snipers or smiths, they are the best with steel and they also do repel magic.
- Subclasses:
- Knight ( ehm.. headhunter if you ask anyone else)
- Bluesmiths ( the mechanical geniuses fo any steampunk dream)
other illustrations:
I know, most of these are black and white (more like maroon and white, but eh) so here is a color reference sheet:
It's neither compulsory to use or complete/perfect. This chart is barely a guideline to start.
How to post your art?Since this was a returning question: Simply submit your work as you would usually then tag me in the description (you can also link the contest journal - I'd really appreciate it) or just leave a comment here with a link to your work!

You sure can! I even encourgaer you to do so!
Aww, wait a minute, we have a guide for this, I quickly translate it for you
Faelds:
Faeld language sounds soft and graceful, so they don't really like sounds like "k" "t" or "s". The diphthong "ae" is quite common and two of the same vowels often stand after each other, forming a longer vowel ( like oo, ii, and so on).
Female names end with the sound "a", "i" or "e", while male names end with "o" or consonant. Given names always come before family name, and they usually consist of 4-5 syllables.
Also, the world "d'ihna" can be inserted between the given and the family name, if the family name indicates the birthplace or the estate of the family. (like "de" in Italian or "of" in English)
Sample name:
NATHAMIR DI'HNA LEADORI (male)
DAERINA DI'HNA LEADORI. (female)
Laers:
Laers said to have the most musical language ever heard - so in names and words, consonant clusters really rarely happen - but long consonants are usually used: like the double /s/ /r/ /l/ /n/ /j/ /m/ .
Diphthongs and even triphthongs are very common. Given names often end with a /diphtong+n/ or just simply with /s/ or /t/. Female names tend to end with diphtongs more often than male names, but there are no strict rules. Given name comes before family name, and the given name is at least 3 syllables long.
Sample name:
ALLERIAN EREMON (male)
ALLERIAI EREMON (female)
I hope I could help
