The village elders were desperate after the latest run-in with the mining company. They needed to do some damage to the "civilized world" to distract it from harassing their people. But the elders were no fools and knew a war was impossible.

Flippantly, Saniy Yura suggested teaching the ancient size-altering secrets to Nina, the village's most rambunctious daughter, and letting her run around the outside world unsupervised as a giant. The other elders seemed to think it was a genuinely good idea -- The outsiders won't think an out of control kid is a deliberate attack, right? But she would need someone to watch over her, just to make sure she doesn't get lost and find herself unable to come home. Maybe they could also teach the ancient secrets to Mayu. Nina's older cousin is always egging her into even greater mischief.

As soon as they both understood the ancestors' secrets, Mayu and Nina resolved to have a growth competition to see which could make herself bigger than the other. Nina won by far, making herself gigantic compared to Mayu and absolutely colossal in comparison to the normal-sized world. Though completely unexpected, it was an early indication that the plan was going to work. Nina ended up skipping away with Mayu on her shoulder, all the while kicking down hills, flinging trees into the air with her toes, and splashing away rivers.

Nina: There's nothing left at all. The buildings completely turn to dust if you throw them hard enough!

Mayu: If you throw a building into another building, do they both turn into twice as much dust?

Nina: Let's go back to the city and find out! But first I want to see if throwing this other building into the water will make it turn into mud.

Mayu: It just makes a big splash.

Nina: Jump in the water and see if there's anything left. I can grab you when you're done.

Mayu: Let me off your shoulder when we're in the city. I want to see if I can smash a building by throwing cars at it.

Nina: I want to see if you can catch cars if I flick them at you. Haha. But now how about you get in the water and look for whatever's left of that building?

Mayu: Hey, don't push me. I'm older than-- AAAaaaaaah!

Nina: Ha ha! You make a big splash too. My turn!

Mayu: No, Nina! NOT ON TOP OF ME!
