Description My Scaler OC's name is Guana.

Formerly 20-year old Chloe Lotus, she was sucked through a mysterious portal while studying wlidlife in the Caribbean. As a human, she had a strong aversion to reptiles, be they lizard or otherwise, and was initially scared of her new appearence, yet she has slowly grown used to her scaly looks and has even become fond of some of her abilities.

The barb on her tail serves little practical use, yet it does add to her tail attack.

The reason she gives for her similar appearence to Scaler is that they were both human at one time, and thus they became the same kind of lizard.

Her name comes from Iguana.

Ohhh, I think I gotcha. So it's like they may look different on paper and when made real, but they're really not that different at all?

LOL. But I thought for a minute that you were saying that a lotta stories, including my own, seem like they're all the same.

I wasn't, you're okay.

Awww. But while I admit that my stories contain familiar elements that have been seen before, I've still tried to make them fresh with unexpected elements.

That's the hard part.

CB-Blackwell In reply to Proceleon [2011-09-12 19:41:53 +0000 UTC]

It just takes some creative thinking. Take Ben in Monster World, for instance. It's essentially a human/monster friendship story, but it's got unexpected elements such as the monster in that friendship being magical.

Oh, well I'll be fair, that has been done before...... most things have...

CB-Blackwell In reply to Proceleon [2011-09-12 19:51:23 +0000 UTC]

But certain things about that haven't. That whole friendship actually started on a sour note, as the human had accidentally injured a fellow monster and the first monster came up looking for justice.

Yeah, this is actually meant to be a trilogy or mini-series, because the overall story I have in mind is too big for just one book.

CB-Blackwell In reply to Proceleon [2011-09-22 19:32:16 +0000 UTC]

Oh yeah, duh! Sorry about that. But yeah, I agree with that statement. It's like you don't really know what's gonna happen next with the story, huh?

Proceleon In reply to CB-Blackwell [2011-09-22 19:35:57 +0000 UTC]

That is what I just said.

CB-Blackwell In reply to Proceleon [2011-09-22 19:40:34 +0000 UTC]

Aha. But just me repeating for my clarity. So anyway...Isn't that aspect a boon for any good story? Unpredictability and anticipation, huh?

Proceleon In reply to CB-Blackwell [2011-09-22 19:42:36 +0000 UTC]

It does give the plot another dimension.

Oh yeah, 'cause it helps if you don't really know what's coming next, huh?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Proceleon In reply to CB-Blackwell [2011-09-22 20:06:56 +0000 UTC]

I wouldn't say 'helps', but it keeps you following the story.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

CB-Blackwell In reply to Proceleon [2011-09-22 20:12:36 +0000 UTC]

Aha, but at least it wouldn't be cliched or boring, huh?
