The time conquering villain Extant for day 15 of DCember. Prompt: Time.

Extant has one of the most convoluted backstories of all DC villainy. A villain named Monarch comes from the future to stop the time traveling Waverider from stopping a hero of the present from turning evil and becoming Monarch. During battle with many of Earth’s heroes Monarch killed Dove and her partner Hawk killed Monarch for it and removed his helmet to see that it was his own face underneath and he put on the armor to become Monarch himself, (A last second change because fans figured out the hero was going to be Captain Atom). Soon after Monarch absorbs Waverider into himself and becomes Extant (whatever that means) and set out to conquer time. Eventually he is killed, but as Hawk he is resurrected, but Extant still shows up in the modern day as a totally separate person from Hawk, so...comics.

He’s a stupid character, but he’s one of my favorites so here yah go!
