Description: The Elephant Bird is a large species of flightless bird that was once native to the island of Madagascar, this was the largest species of flightless bird that ever lived, even larger than the largest known Terror Birds. This massive bird was best known for its large eggs, these eggs are known to be up to 13 inches long and weigh up to 22 pounds, this is larger than the eggs of the largest known dinosaurs, making them the biggest eggs in the entire animal kingdom. Elephant Bird nests would only have 1 egg per nest due to their large size and the energy it takes to lay just 1 egg, unfortunately, the eggs are the most vulnerable to predators, like Humans, although Humans would have been more than capable of hunting adult Elephant Birds, eggshell fragments have been discovered around the remains of fireplaces, this most likely means that Humans would have used the large Elephant Bird eggs to feed the entire family. We are still unclear of what time the Elephant Bird went extinct, but most studies estimate the time of extinction between 1000 and 1200 A.D., though we are able to analyze the DNA of the Elephant Bird thanks to the remains we have found, if the techniques are done right, it could be possible to clone the Elephant Bird back from extinction.

Personal Thoughts: I have seen several Elephant Bird eggs in museums and zoos like the Toledo Zoo, I think it would be amazing to see one of these alive in person. I think this was a cool thing to feature in the ZT2 Extinct Animals pack, but I'm not too fond of that head crest on it, it doesn't look like something the real Elephant Bird would have. The remake on the left is really nice looking, that looks more like what it would look like in real life, but there is one downside to it, the eggs it lays are the exact same as the Ostrich eggs, this doesn't ruin it, but it is still a slight inaccuracy. Other than that, it has no bugs or glitches and the modeling and textures are realistic.
