I'd decided to change up the card design a little, mainly Anti-hero label and the horizontal layout. This is Evangelion Unit 01 from Hideaki Anno's masterpiece Neon Genesis Evangelion. The reason I chose Unit 01 for the Anti-Hero series I cannot disclose due to the fact that it might ruin the plot for those of you who have not viewed this series. Unit 01 could be a blessing or a burden for mankind, sometimes going berserk and acting on it's own free will, it lashes out at it's creators. Spawned from a loathed enemy, mankind puts it's future into the hands of this beast. And this could also be said for the other EVAs, if given the proper chance.

This Kubrickesque series, which aired in Japan back in '95, runs 24-30 minute episodes long with the addition of two feature films. The reason I love this series is the characters, the immense ammount of time Hideaki has to build upon them, and the fact that more often than not some character in this series will remind you of someone you know or once knew. It also deals with many complex issues like god, gorvernment, parenting, the nature of self, other dimensions, religion, love, and evolution. If your just getting into anime I will suggest as I always do to watch one of the following: Akira, Ghost in the Shell, Cowboy Bebop, Grave of the Fireflies, Ninja Scroll, or perhaps Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust. But if you decide you like or perhaps love anime, then definitely see this series.
