A small story I've been meaning to draw out.
Finally done to celebrate 1000 days of daily doodles on my doodle blog o/

Whoa there. You're getting the message from this entirely wrong. You can't assume a 'pro' is satisfied with their art. You're not them. You don't know their struggle to get to where they are now.
There's always going to be someone better than you no matter how high you
climb. But there's always going to be someone who's following after you. You need to turn around every once in a while.
These characters do not portray themselves as asian or any defined nationality. The only intended discrimination in this comic is age, but its only to state that age doesn't matter in art. If you can work every day studying and practicing for what you love, no matter what gender or nationality, you will get better than you were the day before.
And you probably need to research famous artists. Majority of them are male. Females exist, but men get more appreciation for their work.
Art is not a contest as to who can be the best. You take your own approach and pace to it. If you don't like where you are now, then you need to work harder. This applied for everything you want in life in terms of career.

I am not a pro. I'm nowhere near being a professional in any way. I do not have an artist career even if i would love to have one. I am not defending this artist (i don't even follow them or know them personally), I'm showing you that you're looking at this from the wrong angle. I've struggled with the thoughts of knowing i'm not good, but I know what it takes to be good. It's hard work and not doubting yourself. Talent has very little to do with being a professional. If you are not improving, then you need to change the way you are learning.
I never mentioned laziness. But a hard worker WOULD know that getting better takes TIME and its not something that happens over night. You apparently are one of the very few people who don't get this flash comic and are misunderstanding. Everyone else gets it and finds it motivational.
I'm not a teenager either. Stop assuming what I am or anyone else here is. There are people in the comments who are below you in terms of skill and they understand what this comic means (teenager and adults), compared to a self proclaimed 'old idiot' that you call yourself.
I know what kind of person you are by how you put down yourself and others who are 'better' off in life. You clearly have personal problems and you should seek help. Saying you want to cut or even kill yourself are dangerously clear signs of depression. I wish death on no one and I do not mind giving out a hand to help.

All you do is assume. You don't know. I've had a friend who's talent is better than you and me put together and she still believes she's shit and I have to constantly tell her she's not. But you don't need to believe me, because to you i'm a liar who enjoys putting people down. That's fine. Like the mature person I am, I wish you well in life and hope you grow our of your 14 year old mindset. A true adult will take what he has and make the best of it. In all honesty, let me just say your attitude sucks. I am a terrible artist, let me tell you. But you get better. You will get better no matter how you see it yourself.
Someone on top had to start at the bottom at some point in time. They probably used to be much worse than they are now, and I think I speak for many artists saying that. But some people just need to figure it out eventually, or figure out something else they're good at. I'm not going to give up at art because I suck, I'm going to keep going because I know I can get better. I've gotten a lot of support from great artists, and I've gotten better because of it.
Really though. You could have said everything you said in a completely different or more polite way, because you just sound like a complete asshole in the way you've said things so far.

I fought for my right to draw and create for over ten years, destroyed my health for it, threw away allies for it, screwed over my eyesight to the point seeing for too long makes me ill now, practically ran away from home for it, gambled my life on it with a boxcutter in front of my family and nearly lost the gamble (thank goodness I didn't).
I'm a year younger than you so unless if you thought you were a kid last year, maybe you'll listen a bit.
I agree. People are assholes if you're too nice. But you're protecting yourself with something really counterproductive.
In the end, whoever you are, whatever gender you are, and whatever race you are, things balance out. Asian females have it easy when it comes to art? As an Asian female, you also are expected to be perfect by the rest of your family who force-feed you but call you fat, shame you if you're not outstanding, prevent you from dating then push you to find a husband as soon as you turn 18. Friends? I didn't have those either, since I wasn't allowed to see anyone after school or on the weekends until I finally left the house. Yeah, I'm sorta good at art, I won't deny that, but I got there partially because I had no friends. You can speak with attitude. I can't do that. You might be able to joke around. I can only live life seriously, so joking is something most people take for granted that I really don't have. I was told by so many people in real life: "your drawing sucks" or "no matter how good you get, you still won't get a job since too many people are better than you" and "what you're doing isn't art" and "you're not that good." People have asked me "are you autistic?" I'm not. I simply exchanged living a normal life and nearly my life itself for art.
So if you can't draw without support from other people, then you're absolutely right. You'll just fail, but not because you're neither Asian nor Female. You'll fail because you've already quit in the face of adversity. Rather than ask the artist to remove the piece, why don't you just stop drawing already? You clearly don't love it enough to give your life up for it since you're here complaining about this existing instead of taking charge of what you can do.
Sure. Your opinion is that this piece gives false hopes. Totally legit and no sarcasm from me (I don't know how to use that either). That's your opinion and you can protect your opinion with whatever attitude or armor you like. I don't disagree with you. But what you're doing right now doesn't help you get to where you want to get either. The more important thing is that, isn't it? If you want to draw, then draw.

1 - I'm not "pro." I don't have a job in the field and no one will hire me.
2 - I told you to stop because you have no motivation, not because you have no skills. What I said was if you only worried about skills, then quit drawing. It doesn't take skill to make an artist. It takes guts, which you don't have.

Pro =/= beautiful gallery. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and honestly, I love sketches and doodles more than I like completed work. Anyone can sketch and doodle. Does that mean the only people I recognize as pros are sketchers and doodlers?

8 years ago, my art teacher told me to stop drawing because I didn't draw well . My parents told me to stop drawing because it wasn't good . My customers were unsatisfied with my work. I told myself to stop drawing because it wasn't good . It took guts to keep drawing.

I do think so, since I've been reading people replying to your comments. It's a bit of an exaggeration, but it's a reference to a book I read where there is indeed a character almost as negative as you are described in the same manner.
Lastly, the difference between you and I is this. I used a box cutter to bargain for my right to do as I wish for my life and fight against the ties of my tradition. I moved past it by winning the gamble. You have not.

Oh no, I have done that before. It wasn't the most fun thing, but I still did it. I was able to draw things still. In fact, I started drawing without support from anyone, but instead people detested me for it. I was being serious when I asked how old you are, though.
You seem to have a pretty negative outlook on a lot of things, but it really doesn't seem like you actually are terrible at art yourself (by the looks of it to me, at least.)

I wouldn't exactly call myself a kid. I wouldn't call myself dumb either. But seriously, it's like I said. I'm actually in the process of doing something right now that'll make me better at what I love to do so I might be able to make a living off of it. It's not easy, though. Art is hard to make a job out of, sometimes.
