Sunset System is an existentialist story about the automatic machines mankind left behind after suddenly vanishing. As the robots and masterminds eternally struggle to keep a dead civilization running, some begin to experience their first moments of conscious thought. Stranded and alone in a world where their original purpose no longer makes sense, the automatics risk fading away with the ruins that surround them — unless they learn to create new meaning for themselves, and forge a new path out of the twilight.
More generally, Sunset System is an atompunk/retro-futuristic styled worldbuilding project drawing inspiration from mankind’s old dreams of what the future might look like; as well as a video game project of the same name that I’m working on with some friends on the side.
