Aged 15, in 1979, Me, My Sister, Her Boyfriend, and a group of local Essex Rock and Rollers, all headed off to a party, on a farm in the Essex area of England, on a Saturday summers evening.
The party was taking place on an actual farm, well in the cottage on the farm that is, although, it wasn't many hours later, that the party did actually spread to the adjacent fields and courtyards. there was Hells Angels, and Rockers, making drunken motorcycle stunts across pig pens, Teddy Girls having pillow fights out on the cottage lawn (feather pillows) oh dear! . . And etc, and etc . .

The party continued on until the morning light, at around 4.30am, June I think? We`d drank ourselves sober, and as there would be no buses until late morning, we decided Romford wasn't far to walk from this suburb of Stapleford!? . . We left there at about 6am, after much debate, all ten of us made our way on foot towards the Rabbits Pub, at the end of the mile long gravel drive. Behind us back at the cottage, we caught site of the Girl Host, and her Boyfriend attempting to vacuum the lawn of feathers, and trying to awaken the drunken bikers, and persuade them out of the stables, and back into the cottage with the remaining Rockabilly's and Teddy boys. The walk home was excruciating, Girls removed their high heels, boys, their winkle pickers, bare foot for several hours.

This was not the last walk home from a party, but the first of many to follow, including late night London clubs, with transport finishing at midnight in the 1980s.
We cottoned on to allocating a none drinking driver soon after, and I returned the favour once I began to drive.

I layered this photograph from several images, to create the younger Me, as if beckoning My older self back to fun times occasionally, and for a nostalgic trip back to times when, nobody EVER seemed to carry a camera! . . . . . . HAMMONDS FARM AT DAWN 1979.
