Description
Cataline AnnesleyAlter-Ego:
As much as I desire to have a remarkable and unforgettable vigilante name, I currently don’t have one. My mind is too occupied with life's obligations and responsibilities, unfortunately. You might be thinking that coming up with a name is the easiest thing anyone can do... Well, it’s not. It's not because of my lack of name concepts; it's more so because I want something unique rather than generic. However, the confidence in making one has not strayed away from me… yet.
Species: I'm a feline, myun!
Age: Twenty-Two
Occupation:
I mainly work part-time as a waitress in a café + bar called the Vintage Afternoon. I also study full time at Achates' Port University to obtain a career in Computer Science. I handle the afternoon-to-evening shift because I am more of a morning-oriented student; it's evident that people are more proactive at the crack of dawn, but that's debatable. Plus, I get to make some dough to afford books, courses, and other important stuff. The work is straightforward: write down all the orders and serve them quickly to the customers. Let’s not forget about dealing with those charming customers that are so impatient that it makes you just want to give them a good boot in the ass. I could have gone for a simple job, like daycare or babysitting, but I'm just not that well versed in dealing with children. Don't get me wrong; it's not that I don't like them, it's just that I've ran into a few stampedes too many of toddlers that act worse than upset weebs after their favorite booth gets canceled last minute at Comic-Con. I'm glad that I scored a job that not only pays me a fair amount of cash per hour, but also has a mature environment filled with proactive adults… more or less. Besides serving food and beverages to customers, I occasionally get to bartend (by far my favorite part of my job). I saved the “best” for last: my boss, Mr. Watson. This guy gives me migraines like no other. He has a compulsive need to be right every time he speaks and continuously points out how the other employees and I are always wrong. He can never admit a mistake, and when he does make one, he never apologizes. Did I forget to mention how he micromanages everyone; breathing down their necks, as well as being vindictive and narcissistic? As soon as I step foot inside the café, my freedom no longer exists as I drag a steel ball bigger than my soul while he monitors our every move. (If you would like to come and drop by for coffee, champagne, or anything, we're open from 8:00 am to 12:30 am daily, except Sundays).
Residence:
I reside in an apartment complex that has a backdoor which, unfortunately, leads to a train station that's adjacent to the building. Don't judge me for picking an apartment like this; good rentals in the city aren’t cheap, and this place isn’t half bad - if you enjoy the soothing sounds of the crumbling train tracks nearby, that is. My place is a little crowded though; it's filled with movies, video games, a tri-monitor computer station, and a bunch of other nerdy collectibles (don't tell anybody the way I live).
Aside from living in the concrete jungle, I occasionally visit my mother, Elizabeth, who lives out in the country. She isn't too comfortable with city life, and I don’t blame her; having too many people around drives the poor woman nuts. I can agree with her thoughts about city life, but I prefer having the convenience of all the stores being just a walk away from where I live.
Affiliates:
Well, there's my colleagues that I meet up with at the café: Rutherford, Gertrude, and Daniel. There's also my friends at college: Anna, Irvine, Stanley, and Paula. Other than that, I don't have that many friends… until I met this vigilante group, like the ones I’ve read about in comic books. They are a team of crime fighters, consisting of human and anthropomorphic members, who protect the city from criminals ranging from everyday thieves to the strongest foes that no hero can stand a chance against alone. The crime-fighting group has a leader who is remarkable for his superior strength, deadly pyrokinetic prowess, and hundreds of years of combat experience and training under one of the greatest fighters known to history, Takahiro Nakamura. The group also has a vice leader who was once affiliated with the government, has outstanding skills with her elastic combat, and is a master of espionage thanks to her shapeshifting abilities, named Katsumi Shimura. There are several other members in this committee of vigilantes, but if I were to mention all of them, we'd be here for a while. The coolest part about all of this is that I never thought I would run into a group like them and be qualified to join! (Don't ask how I got in, okay? I had to seize that opportunity, so shut it).
Biography:
I was born on April 11, 1991, in a town called Ridgepoint. The town I lived in prior to my current location was a rural community with wide open spaces, fresh air to breathe, no lights at night, and best of all, fantastic open skies for stargazing. I am an only child and was always a little helper, assisting my mother with housework and my father, Douglas, with farming. I was quite the helpful child back then since I had nothing better to do when I was out of homework to work on. Despite being a hard working child, I started to get negligent when I developed my interest in comic books and video games. I remember how excited I was when I got my first console, the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), which is something that my parents regretted getting me. I also remembered how delighted I was playing as Mario saving the princess, Link defeating Ganon, or destroying Chaos in Final Fantasy. Such fond memories!
Besides video games and comic books, my parents were confused that I was more interested in boy stuff rather than Barbies, My Little Pony, or any of that crap. Girly things have never been my forte. I quit wearing dresses when I was five - since then, I've preferred sneakers over sandals or heels, and I used to like roughhousing with my buddies back in the 1st and 2nd grade until one of them pulled my hair… boy did that guy made a huge mistake. As I got older, one of my friends introduced me to anime, and I started getting into it. I enjoyed watching Neon Genesis Evangelion with the post-apocalyptic setting, and Dragon Ball Z with the Z warriors defending the earth from intergalactic villains and androids! Despite my tomboy nature, I tend to stray into my feminine side whenever I befriend a dude who shares my interests, but I usually shut down and make things incredibly awkward.
There was one watershed moment in my life that I will never forget. When it was my eighth birthday, my parents bought me a kite. It wasn't the best gift I ever got, but I knew it was my parent's attempt to pry me off of the TV screen and consoles, so I gave it a chance. I went outside to play with the kite they gifted to me and it "suddenly" got stuck in a tree, like a Charlie Brown situation. Rather than asking my parents to bring the ladder and take the kite down, I was stupidly confident to venture forth and climb up the tree to retrieve it (I would've left it up there, but I'd get the belt). As soon as I reached out to get the kite, I slipped right off the branch and landed ass-flat on the muddy ground. Despite falling from a nearly 9-foot drop, I could still feel my hands gripping the branch. I looked up to see my arms had elongated. I discovered that I have a superpower!
I was frightened and skeptical at first, wondering how I even got my ability in the first place. I thought my arms would never return to their original state, but my mind still focused on getting that damn kite down from the tree. I managed to get the kite down, but my arms were now all piled up like spaghetti on the ground, and I had no way of restoring them to their original shape. What made this whole situation a lot worse was that I heard my parents coming over. I panicked and concentrated as they slowly retracted to their regular length. I felt relieved once my arms were back to normal, but as soon as I turned around, it was too late - my parents had witnessed everything. My parents were confused as hell, but what surprised me is that instead of sending me to a research faculty where I'll never see them again, my parents kept the whole daughter-has-stretching-powers thing a family secret and told me to never reveal my powers to my friends, relatives, or anyone at all. Weeks after the long talk I had with my parents concerning about my superpower, I started practicing my new abilities in the barn and in my bedroom every day when I come back home from school, stretching, coiling, twisting, and morphing. I figured out a couple of tricks, such as stretching myself into a hammock and turning my hand into a slingshot. Other ways that I practiced manipulating my body were stretching my limbs to help my parents get things that were out of their reach and mimicking the stretched out illustrations of elastic superheroes and villains from my comics. Sure, I got used to my powers to the point where I rely on them in my day to day life, but to this day I still question how exactly I got my ability, as it remains a mystery.
When I was nine years old, my father began going through terrible health problems. He wasn't able to bend his back, walk, or drive. The worst part is that he couldn't run his farm, meaning that my family and I would potentially have no place to live. My mom had to chip in on the farming so we wouldn't lose our home; she even had to get a second job to help pay off the mortgage payments that were piling up. It got to the point where my mother had to work overnight to keep a steady flow of income, which was dreadful for her. My father, on the other hand, stayed at home. The only times my father left the house were when we had to bring him to the physician for his monthly check up. Even with all the medical aid, my father passed away a few months later. It was a difficult time that changed the lives of my mother and I. We eventually moved to the city and lived in a decent apartment since we couldn't afford the mortgage for the farm anymore. On a brighter note, my mother got a decent job in the city that pays well - plus, she doesn't have to work overnight shifts. From that point forward, our lives have been great... for the most part.
My mother's performance in her new job is exceptional. I, on the other hand, had trouble blending into the city life. Sure, I share my interests and hobbies with others, but I feel that I haven't found my niche yet, mostly because I don't want to feel like an outcast towards the more popular social groups. Despite not having a group to hang out with, I did make some friends from my middle school, high school, and in college. I am majoring in both Video Game Design/Programming and Engineering; I plan to minor in Fine Arts. My senior year in college is coming to an end. so I can finally release that burden off of my already aching back, only to put an even heavier burden on it called Life.
One day, I was in the middle of work when I saw these two strangers heading into the restrooms after grabbing some grub at the cafe. Things got suspicious when they were taking too long in the bathrooms while customers were piled up in a waiting line. As a lady, I didn't want to go into the men's room, but it was part of my job to assist the customers. Besides, the last thing I want to deal with is my boss, so I had to do something. I barged into the men's room and was shocked to find that nobody was in there. I've checked the women's room and found the same thing, nothing! However, I caught a glimpse of something heading outside, and I was on the case! I rushed out to chase after their tails. I followed them on foot as they took a sharp left, but before I could jump in and catch them, they had already hopped into a car and left the scene. I wasn't going to give up that easy. I had to go after them - undetected on my moped scooter, of course. I tailed them carefully, all the way to an abandoned warehouse by the harbor. I searched for the two strangers, but they vanished altogether. I thought I’d lost them entirely, but then I saw these two random people, one in black and one in red, running into the warehouse. I asked myself, "What are these folks doing here at a time like this? And why are they going into an abandoned warehouse?" They'd certainly caught my interest! We all know the old saying about how curiosity killed the cat, but I’d gone this far and there was no turning back. So, I chose to venture inside and take a closer look at the action. Long story short, I got myself mixed up with this vigilante group by intervening in their business, which resulted in getting caught and a few hours of interrogation. After being lectured by the two, they decided to let me go… but all I could think about was how epic it was! They had cool outfits and awesome looking weapons and stuff. Though, something in my gut told me it wouldn't be the last I'd see those guys.
Personality:
As for my personality type, I'd say I'm a rather modest person who feels like something's always missing inside. I sort of feel half dead with the amount of stress I have in my life. Other than that, I'm pretty friendly, bubbly, and kind, but never mistake my kindness for weakness. I keep my nails super sharp, so don't rub me the wrong way and all will be purr-fectly peachy. I'm a very efficient person, completing my duties in life and college work done in the most effective way possible. I am also quite a reliable person when it comes to group projects. I never really think of myself being “THE BEST OF THE BEST”, just a fair individual who is glad to be supportive. I tend to get a little rash whenever things don't turn out the way that I expect them to, such as plans on assignments, social gatherings, or whatever else goes awry.
Likes/Dislikes:
Besides the usual with video games, comic books, and all of that jazz, I like to go exploring places that I've never been before. I also like eating exotic food; cuisines that some people hate eating, I enjoy. Plus, exercising and yoga are things I enjoy doing daily; I have a personal gym that I regularly unfold in my living room. Finally, my most preferred form of transportation would be skateboarding.
As for dislikes, being used for someone else's benefit without them giving me credit for whatever project is a big NO for me. Then there are hypocrites, those who make poor excuses to get away with things, and worst of all, those who do not show any concern for others. "Hmm, instead of expressing my concern for that particular person and telling them my honest thoughts on what they're doing wrong, I'll instead just let it ALL happen and see how far things go from there." People like that is the reason why God left us.
Beliefs and Goals:
Hmm, where do I start? Well, I haven't planned THIS far ahead. I guess the first goal that I have is to be a game designer. It's my biggest passion, and I couldn't imagine waking up to a job better than that. Plus, it'll help me give back to my mother for the sacrifices she made to give us a better life after all the hardships. She deserves it for being an awesome mom in the end. I’m going to graduate college with my Master's in Computer Science. I've worked like a horse to reach my current 4.0 GPA, and I don't plan to call it quits there. As for my social skills, I would like to be a bit more outgoing; I want to be able to socialize better with others. I have plans to travel in the future, Europe, Australia, JAPAN (my first stop, no questions asked). I've had this dream since I was little to become a superheroine and fight alongside an epic crime-fighting team. I've gotten A LOT better at using my powers, so hopefully, I'll feel ready enough to make that dream a reality someday. I'd say that's about it for my personal goals. If anything else comes to mind, I'll be sure to update this section eventually.
Hobbies:
Video games - EVERYTHING that has to do with video games is where I like to be. That includes conventions, events, or just casual hangouts; merch, clothing, plushies, consoles, figures, the whole nine yards. Besides binge playing on my gaming systems, I like to corrupt some of my games to see creepy morphs on the graphics or listen to funny blips and glitches that the corrupted games produce. Swimming takes a solid second place on my hobbies list. I also like to sketch in my spare time, but I only do so like once in a blue moon, usually on any Friday the thirteenth or in a leap year (in other words it's whenever I feel like it). Lastly, I ride my bike at a nearby park five blocks from where I live.
Skills:
Oh boy, this is my favorite part of the bio info! I have visited every local video game store for Smash Bros. tournaments throughout the city. I've won at least two 2nd place prizes and a 1st place $10,000 cash prize! I am quite the competitive player, but I gradually stopped playing as much as I used to since my college life started (and that time I was JV3'd by a guy with an afro in semi-finals; no recovering from that incident… that is never to be mentioned). As mentioned before, I am a versatile person when it comes to working individually or in a group, whether it be encouraging my colleagues to maintain their motivation on completing an assignment or just general help and guidance. I'm pretty decent at engineering and coding, so that's another one for you. Lastly, I tend to play around with my elastic powers whenever I'm alone, like stretching my hand into a slingshot to annoy some pedestrians or stretching myself into a swing set, paddleball, any casual thing that your friendly neighborhood stretchy girl would do when they're bored.
Powers:
Besides my lazy transformations with my hands and arms, I can stretch long distances. Though I can't tell just how far I can stretch - so that's something I plan to investigate further as I grow accustomed to my abilities. I can also flatten myself as thin as paper, which is pretty useful sometimes. Don't know about inflation since it's… something that I usually don't do. I can also make myself shift into a liquid-like state. I heard regeneration is a thing most stretchy heroes and villains can do, though I don't know if I'm capable of doing that yet. I still look to advance more with new techniques, so maybe I'll give it a shot in the future.
Source of powers:
I honestly don't know how I got my powers. To this day, it remains a mystery on how I got them. I'm still looking for answers though; I haven't given up on that. If I discover something, I’ll give you guys the scoop.
Weaknesses:
I am a rather lazy kitty, I know I'm guilty of that. Aside from that, my body begins to feel weak after stretching really far distances, almost as if my limb or limbs begin to thin out. Other factors that count as my weaknesses are exposure to intense heat, freezing temperatures, sharp objects, and tight spaces.
If you folks made it this far, then you’ve earned a cookie! Though if any new detail updates arise, I will add them here later on. But for now, I’d say that’s enough about me and I’ll leave you folks with all that! Take care, myun! :3

with her powers, it's either she's glad to have then or not
because in her early stages of life, people took advantage over her with her
powers, she could be bipolar in a way but it's not serious, just
a couple of mood swings.
Of course she's very familiar with gamestop
all gamers do ^.^
