Description bobbed and pinned
they lie,
grainy strands drowning in liquid sand;
warm, dry fingers sifted their
tired bodies into softened piles,
limp cords draped over sighing sails,
drifting ships off-shore.

they purr softly when they fall
from greedy paws,
hissing through palms to
thump back on hollow ground,
parched and dusty,
quaffing the ocean air like
divine delicacies;
craven ambrosia imbibed in plenty--

whispering clumps of
enviable glory,
they know not their value.
fine chains -
fragile structures of woven
ice and gossamer preciosity.

choppy waves beat at their exoskeletal
carapace-coffin;
a wooden shell sheltering
that which is valuable--
confining beautiful greed.
