"Sorry I'm late, somethin' came up..." The redhead said, a hand against the back of his neck, "But I'm here now, promise!"

The other waved him off, patting the empty spot on the grass beside for him to join. "It's been such a long time now!" he says with a smile, waiting for the other to sit down beside him, "We've been so busy with our own lives, I didn't even notice how much time's passed!"

"Heh, yeah it certainly has," the taller of the two says, leaning back against the trunk of the tree, "I'm just really glad that we got the chance to catch up." His eyes were trained on the sky, as the sun dipped beneath the horizon, turning the sky a soft shade of pink.

A lot of conversation was had around the old tree. Life. Work. The future. The past. As the sun began to set further across the countryside, they could rest easy knowing that even after all this time has passed in the world, they could still be around to catch up.

(Apologies for the wait. It's been a *crazy* month and I haven't had the motivation to draw anything for weeks. But I finally got off my ass to finish this cuz it's been waiting in the wings and it was special.)
