I remember you.
You were running right past me, in the Fields of Life.
We were having fun with each other. Simple excitement when we were little.
There was nothing too complex. Nothing too troubling. Nothing to worry.
Just you and me, enjoying the company of the other.
We were both so innocent. The fun should have lasted until the day's end of many.
But alas, it wasn't meant to be then.
For we lost ourselves in the Forests of Time, and ended up at the Gate of Mysteries.
Into twists and turns past the Gate, there were many trials and tests to endure.
Everything I knew became a distant memory in the abyss.
Everything I wanted was left begging at the mercy of others.
Everything I needed, taken by the greed of strangers.
For what I seeked, I endured the Seas of Rage, and the many Rivers of Despair.
But no closer to the once peaceful fields that I longed for.
My soul had drifted to faraway places, which home changed with each passing day.
Traversing through every condition imaginable. Frost, heat, fog and mire.
Each one more difficult than the last one to bear.
Things became harder and harder to carry onto my shoulders.
That is before a Light of Hope lifted this heavy burden from me and showed the way in front of my eyes.
The Road to Enlightenment posed a crossroad to decide upon.
Accept a Path to Truth? Or to hold onto a Pathway to Memories?
I made my choice to remain where I had started out. And to you.
