Description My best friend worte this, and now I thought I would share.
The pic is of my 'Alter'.

Feel the vibration,
Move to the dance.
Can’t you hear them calling,
Fall to your knees, and join them;
In a world of good and evil,
We do not believe.
Here there is the laughter,
The balance and ones deeds.
Oh, smiling God,
Oh, Reina of the sweet waters,
Turn the tide, let us raise our hands,
Let us wash ourselves in your wonder,
Let us know your glory and not ever fear,
For your eyes are ever watching,
And protect us you shall dear.
With the blood of a black hen,
Ruby silks and a golden fan,
The spirits hear.

Sing the song of a thousand mambo nights,
Under the moon in a ridden trance,
Beating the ground and raising their heads,
Their hair is free, their hearts are wild,
To the Seven African Powers.

Oh, child of milky flesh,
Oh, child of far away waters,
Oh, child your prayers be heard,
Oh, child your words be known,
Oh, child who acknowledges his fate,
Oh, child who’s heart is full of ache,
Oh, child tonight you shall sleep,
In the arms of the orisha wake.
May they keep you safe,
May they keep you still,
May your life know nothing but happiness,
If it be their will.

So speak the name of the crucified Christ,
So honor the mother, the mentor, the wife.
So wear the beads of blue and white,
And know that in your soul,
And in the book of gold,
Where everything is recorded,
And the gates of the sun seal tight,
Shall be opened to you,
The keys supplied,
Inside your name they write.
You shall not be forgotten,
And with sanctity and goodness,
Think not your life in vain.
Soon the paths will appear,
And all doors closed will reveal,
What was hidden then will not conceal,
And forward is the road,
Be not afraid.
And forward you will go.
So shall the chains fall.
And forward you will go.
On the eight month and the fifteenth day,
When the sun surrenders under thicker clouds,
And the day is cool and the night much longer.
Then shall the ocean be calmed,
And your work fulfilled,
Bathe in honey, and sugar sweet,
In warm milk and three white roses,
Florida water and purified oils,
Say three our Fathers, turn six times,
And the peace overcome you.

Oh, child who think he does not belong,
We love all our children,
Great and small,
Weak and strong,
Blessed are you to embrace our ways,
Blessed are you who have faith in the old Gods.
