Aka. the Multi-Tool. An electromagnetic pulse device used by Alyx Vance during the events of Half-Life 2 and its episodes.
The device emit an electric bolt to disable equipments, to bypass Combine security systems or open locked doors. It also can be used to reprogramming as well.
The tool can also be used to gain access to Combine interfaces along with the information in them, often providing the Resistance pivotal intelligence. It stores information much like a USB key, and can be simply plugged into computers to download or upload data...
