The SP wz.09 series of armored cars were the first armored vehicles in Pteroslavia's arsenal. They were made as a test for the concept of a faster-than-infantry armored transport and fighting position, which they passed with flying colors, despite the vehicle's operational difficulties, most of which being attributed to its sub-military-standard truck engine, provided by the original designers, the Danzig Truck Company, aka. GS. The Original wz.09/T cars were supplied to the 8th Royal Cavalry in December of 1909, and after a period of training, they shipped out to a brush-war in the East against the Tsarist forces hounding the building of the Onmund Defensive line there. After 3 months of fighting, they urgently requested a design for the car to incorporate a squad-level machine-gun or larger weapon, as the chassis itself had proven to be sufficiently armored for fighting the under-armed Tsarists.

After the further success of the SP wz.09/W variant, the 8th Cavalry asked for a further modification, incorporating a standard 75mm leHa wz.07 howitzer in place of the machine-gun, in order to supply close range artillery and direct fire support to the quickly moving cavalry regiment. This variant, the SP wz.09/H, was slightly less effective, as the vehicle had to stop to fire the gun, or else it risked being flipped over by the short-barreled gun's heavy recoil. Though it was still issued and used by the 8th Cavalry, it was less preferred than the original W variant.

After the 1911 war with Russia over Crimea, which saw the expansion of the engineering corps attached to Cavalry forces, in order to counter the large fortifications commonly encountered there, a version of the SP wz.09 in order to facilitate the engineering tasks required by the quickly moving regiment. The SP wz.09/I variant was a resounding success in this role, capable of carrying 2 engineers, though-its crew were often of the engineering corps as well- and over 3,000 kg of engineering equipment and supplies, as well as attachment tools for the newly implemented field telephone systems issued to tactical level command.

All-in-all, the SP wz. 09 series was a resounding success in the way it was fielded, allowing the already quick and merciless "Royal 8's" to attack with impunity and armor, as well as allowing them to carry greater armament into the fight, rather than light pack and carbines. the 8th cavalry was redesignated the 8th Royal Motor Regiment in 1913, keeping it's "Royal 8's" moniker.

(Index explanation: Military catalog numbering, as follows -- XxXx(First two letters of each word of the designation of the vehicle, example: Samochod Pancerny = SaPr) *(Weight class or number of wheels on vehicle, weight class only for half-tracks)-**(last two numbers of the year of pilot model's introduction)-X(Index assigned purpose, can be vastly different from actual usage of vehicle in question) Example, SP wz.09/T, original transport model of the SP wz.09 armored car -introduced in 1909- = Index: SaPr 4-09-A)
(P.**** is the manufactury design number, numbers beginning in 1 are wheeled armored vehicles, numbers beginning in 2 are tracked armored vehicles, and numbers beginning in 3 are unarmored support vehicles, both tracked and wheeled)
