Hey, could you make a HWiNFO version out of your fan monitor and/or possibly include it with rainformer? <3

Also: edith reminded me to ask how to change the language of the days.

Hi, love the skin, but CPU temp and fan speed aren't working for me. I'm running the latest versions of Rainmeter and HWiNFO.

Hi. First make sure you've those sensors in HWiNFO Sensor Panel or if you have disabled some, check out are those enabled. Search for them under your Motherboard section, then follow the steps from the pic:

Thank you!
And in case someone else encounters this and is also wondering where to find the Shared Memory Viewer, it's in Resources\Addons in the skin's folder. Then go to View>Rainmeter to get the right panel to show up.

No, don't load it that way since i've made the shortcut in the Settings panel for it.
So just do right click on any Rainformer skin, select "Rainformer settings" in the menu and watch the next few mins of the video if you don't know what else to do:
video
This way HWiNFO.inc is being always pre-loaded. Just update the sensor values.

Hi. Just press "ENTER" on your kb to apply any changes in the Settings panel.
As to your second question, there is a specific situation to do it with HDD skins, because, as you know 1 disk can have many partitions and it means that if someone have C,D,E,F,G... partiotions on one drive, every of the Disk skin would show the same temp (the temp of its Disk Drive) and it would be wasting System resources for nothing. Making a separate skin that would contain the temps would be much easier, but it's one more skin to be on our "small" and usually full desktop.
Probably adding an option to hide the temp sensors from any Disk drive skin and to enable it only on drives one wants would be a good idea, but have to think of it a bit more after i finish the next version (2.4) where i have to rework whole the code since it's gonna be based on a more dynamic background where it will be much easier to add new features in the future, show-hide almost anything on the skins etc.

I have the same problem as BobJax097, everything is working great except it does not show the percentage use of the cpu, it shows the clockspeed, the temperature and the fan speed, but not the core usage.
Can you help sort this out plz?

Hi. There is solution posted in the comments, but i admit it's not always easy to spot things on DA when more than 6-7 replies is there.
So, this the solution:
Run "Command Prompt" "As administrator", then type next:
cd c:\windows\system32
lodctr /R
cd c:\windows\sysWOW64
lodctr /R
Run until you don't get errors (if you'd got any).

Hi. Make sure do you have the latest Rainmeter version. Try to reinstall it. Also, check out is there the plug-in that provides that data, UsageMonitor.dll:  Your Windows version would be welcome as well (Winkey + R, type "winver", press Enter). Btw, those data have been provided by that plug-in, so HWiNFO has nothing to do with it.

BobJax097 In reply to Pul53dr1v3r [2019-07-22 17:43:23 +0000 UTC]

UsageMonitor is in the plugin folder.  Win ver is 1903 (OS Build 18362.239)  Also the CPU-RAM full skin that shows the Core percents also does not read.

BobJax097 In reply to Pul53dr1v3r [2019-07-22 18:02:35 +0000 UTC]

The ones that tell the Core's usage percent.  The temp reads fine.  I just reinstalled both Rainmeter and your skin.

Now the CPU-RAM core usage for the AIDA version does work.  It is showing each of the Cores usage.

Pul53dr1v3r In reply to BobJax097 [2019-07-22 18:58:26 +0000 UTC]

AIDA64 ver. uses Rainmeters built-in measures for the CPU usage and PerfMon plug-in for the disk R/W and some others, while the HWiNFO version uses entirely UsageMonitor plug-in for that measures.
So, you have a problem with UsageMonitor plug-in. Nothing else. Can't find that anyone complained about such a problem in the Rainmeter forum...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

BobJax097 In reply to Pul53dr1v3r [2019-07-22 19:02:34 +0000 UTC]

Ok.  Is UsageMonitor plug-in from Rainmeter or HWiNFO?  I can reinstall HWiNFO to see if that makes any difference.  And I have noticed that the Top CPU monitor also does not seem to work for either the HWiNFO or AIDA versions for me anyway.  I will let you know how it goes with reinstalling HWiNFO.

BobJax097 In reply to BobJax097 [2019-07-22 22:18:44 +0000 UTC]

Reinstalled HWiNFO, same results.  I was able to edit the CPU-RAM skin to use the same core usage functions as the AIDA version and it works.  No idea how to get the Disc monitor to show the Read/Write.

Pul53dr1v3r In reply to BobJax097 [2019-07-22 19:09:34 +0000 UTC]

no, it has nothing to do nor with AIDA neither with HWiNFO . It's a plug-in that comes when you install Rainmeter, so it's in the Rainmeter folder. You can read more of it here .

I haven't updated to Windows 10 1903 yet to see how it works on that ver. Still on 1809. Try to run Rainmeter as an administrator.

i've just migrated to the same Windows 10 version as yours (1903), and everything's working fine. Seems that sth with your system is not good. If i can't solve sth, i usually reinstall complete Windows. It usually solves all.
But i'd suggest you to post your problem  here

Pul53dr1v3r In reply to BobJax097 [2019-07-23 19:20:07 +0000 UTC]

yes, it's an official abbreviation for "something". So, try jsmorley's advice from the Rainmeter forum and let us know does the problem still persists. Did you set HWiNFO right for the sensors that depends on it?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

BobJax097 In reply to Pul53dr1v3r [2019-07-23 20:49:51 +0000 UTC]

I followed jsmorley's suggestions and it is all working correctly now.  I did have an error with the first command from the system32 directory, but everything seems to be working.  I just checked the Top Processes widget and it also works.  Thanks for your help.  It would be nice if the CPU-RAM widget could show the temps for each core, but it is still a very nice set of skins.  Thanks for the hard work.

Pul53dr1v3r In reply to BobJax097 [2019-07-24 15:59:57 +0000 UTC]

Nice. I will write here what solved your issue for other users, so:
Run "Command Prompt" "As administrator", then type next:
cd c:\windows\system32
lodctr /R
cd c:\windows\sysWOW64
lodctr /R
Run until you don't get errors (if you'd got any).

As to the CPU temps for each core, i'm working on new version of the skin suite and will consider your wish. But if and whenever i add it, i MUST have Enable/Disable option since some users don't need it, while more active sensors means higher hardware usage.
Btw, there is a good sensor in HWiNFO that could serve you for now. It's called "Core Max" and it's usually placed under "CPU[#0] ............ DTS" category. It measures the highest temperature among all CPU Cores. If you have that sensor, just open HWiNFO SMV and under "CPU0 Motehrboard's Sensors" category, click the "CPU temperature motherboard sensor", find the Core Max in the left menu and update.

Hm. Do you see the sensor "Core Max" in sensor group "CPU[#0].........DTS" ?If yes, pls check out if the ID is the same. If you don't see, try with the others CPU temp related sensors in the group like "Core #1" etc. But keep in mind that such a sensor only shows up the temp of one core.

If you are not sure what to do, just make a screenshot of your sensor panel so i can see all the sensor names. There should be an appropriate one...

There is the CPU Package (TSI) sensor you can choose, but seems it's not so accurate, expecially at lower temps. The issue exists at many others old CPUs, both Intel and AMD (i posted sth about it in description above). I'd firstly test how accurate it is comparing with the read-outs given by your onboard socket sensor. Don't expect it to be the same, but close as the sensor rmeasures the extrernal CPU temp whilst the first one (CPU Package) measures the Max internal temp in the package among CPU parts such as IA Cores, iGPU, Uncore...

This is an illustration how to find the onboard sensor :

Ignore Motherboard's EC controller.

Yeah I've read that AMD stopped releasing the temp sensors for some of the CPUs, particularly the APUs like mine. What do I need to change in order for it to report a reading on the skin? The one that matches the reading from AIDA is the CPU meter under my mobo section.

I've been into customizing since at least 2004, was heavy into the WinCustomize scene. Resisted Win 10 like the plague because my Win 7 gadgets wouldn't work anymore, and sadly AveDesk is pretty much dead. Rainmeter is pretty awesome so far. I seriously have a 1280x1024 monitor just for gadgets. ^_^
