I decided to to an influence map for inspiration and for fun.
On the top row(from left to right): my favorite picture from because she is the one that got me drawing, a picture from who is my favorite artist on DA and I love her style of painting and she really inspires me, this is a cover for Bizenghast by , it is my favorite manga. It's so creepy and detailed and gothic and I wish to emulate that style.
on the second row: a picture by who draws re-play, a comic that inspired most of my characters. I love how she draws her characters. , a picture by whose androgynous anime realism style really inspires me. I love how she shades. Next is a picture by whose HP fan art is beautiful, I love her cartoony smooth style. It really inspired my early art and art today.
third row: The movie tank girl, I haven't read the comic but I want to, she is a major inspiration for my character lily, Rorschach from Watchmen and Watchmen in general really influence both my writing style and art style, Vogue is a major influence on my art style, I love drawing models and high fashion.
fourth row: the goodbye blue Monday picture is from vonnegut's breakfast of champions and Vonnegut is a major influence in my writing style and my life style in general, the next picture is from Miyazaki's Howl's moving Castle, Miyazaki is a major art influence, his movies are breathtaking. The next picture is from Tim Burton's The Corpse Bride and Tim Burton's creepiness and general art stlye is a major influence for me. the last image is from the music video for Modest Mouse's King Rat, perhaps my favorite music video and the art is amazing. Every time I watch it I get inspired.
