Description
This is another version of a similar drawing I made a few days ago.
They're Technocracy divers and a Tzimisce vampire temporarily joining forces to get an uncontaminated blood sample from a slumbering elder vampire whose silver coffin was hidden at the ocean floor.
When I was a kid, I saw illustrations in some of my dinosaur books of the prehistoric armored fish called a dunkleosteus. I remember thinking that its teeth looked like vampire fangs.
The woman piloting the heavy diving apparatus is based upon an image I curated by using the Midjourney AI back in 2022. I knew I'd end up using that image as a reference for a drawing someday!
I based the design of these orange and green scuba suits upon SpaceX spacesuits, scuba wetsuits, and scuba drysuits. (ex. In addition to how convenient the flip-up visor helmets are for astronauts IRL, the legs' inseam zipper of the SpaceX suits struck me as a potentially-useful method for going to the bathroom aboard a boat. (...especially if the wearer isn't in the mood to take off and put on every single piece of gear they own during an all-afternoon dive when they reeeeally gotta go.)
i.e. Currently in 2023 real life, drysuit manufacturers and wearers are still trying to figure out how to make a better p-valve. Yes, a p-valve is exactly what it sounds like. Men who want to go scuba diving for long dives in frigid waters are currently restricted to the options of a p-valve, holding it in, or wearing an adult diaper. Women have even fewer options. (If you want to get wealthy through honest means, invent and patent a drysuit which allows women to heed nature's call.)
