Hell yeah! I only played a smattering of DKC at, like, daycare and never enough to get to K. Rool proper, but I was still really happy for everyone who freaked out about him finally getting recognized again. I played as him a liiiiittle bit and he seems like a fun character in the right hands. Bit too heavy for me to play as regularly, though, I'd probably only use him with screwin' around.
