I don't know how it happened,Nor do I know when,
But there's a feeling deep inside,
That came from a friend.
We met in a place,
So strange and so cold,
Where others passed by,
But we read what they told.
We submitted a line,
Just a friendly "hello,"
Like others before us,
We watched friendship grow.
Then came a time,
When we bid "adieu,"
And we went on our way,
To find something new.
Time had passed,
And our memories grew few,
But then you found me again,
And life was a different hue.
We talked and we babbled,
For weeks on end,
Only to find,
How much we did blend.
Our friendship grew,
As every day we learned more,
And before we knew it,
We came to adore.
You triggered a smile,
That no one could find,
You opened my eyes,
And filled up my mind.
I gave you a gift,
On a warm starry night,
That's yours to keep,
And to hold onto tight.
So many have failed,
To give me what I need,
But you've done more than that,
You've planted the seed.
In time things will grow,
And there will be much more,
We'll have a new light,
When we visit Ireland's shore.
Every day is a blessing,
With feelings I crave,
For you are my soldier,
So gentle and brave.
