AND DECIDING TO CREATE D&D OCs!

First off: Varakis the Conqueror.

Varakis, The Conqueror, is a towering red Tiefling, descendant of Zariel- the Archdevil of Avernus; the first layer of the Nine Hells. He inherited his ancestor's martial prowess, fiery temper, and zeal for war. He is a Berserker; a barbarian who fights with reckless abandon and unleashes his inner fury in combat. Varakis grew up in a nomadic tribe of raiders and warriors, who followed the call of battle wherever it led them. He learned to fight from a young age, and soon proved himself as a fearsome and fearless fighter.
He earned his title, The Conqueror, after he single-handedly stormed the south end of Elturel, slaying those who sought to defend it once it was pulled down into Avernus. Zariel bestowed the title of The Conqueror to Varakis for such an outstanding feat. He has a reputation for being ruthless in battle, but over-all a big oaf. Though he committed such a feat, his defense of the south of that city was careless, attacking and killing those who fought on his side. After such a loss on both sides, Varakis was branded; scarred with the curse Avernus' Wrath- where Varakis' body becomes covered in flames and can detonate like waves off of his body like an explosion. He has had the curse overtake him twice now, the first time resulting in a small village being burnt to ash along with it's inhabitants, and the second with the warlock who has started travelling with him- Luckily, she was able to contain the burst.
Varakis has low intelligence, but looks and strength tend to get him by. He prefers to solve his problems with his great axe that can be disassembled into two hand-axes, which he wields with deadly skill. He loves to battle so much that he becomes irritable or bored easily if he isn't in battle. He has little regard for his own safety, and often charges headlong into danger, trusting his strength and stamina to see him through. He is loyal to his allies, but has no mercy for his opponents.
He lives for the thrill of combat, and his hunger for pork. At times, he has caused brawls in taverns or in markets for the lack of pork being sold, or them simply being sold out. He favors The Flaming Dragon, an alcoholic beverage, to be pair with his pork meals. He has an animal companion named Pig, who is a male pig that he had taken from a farm once he was top-side in the world of Faerun, and was accompanied by a Warlock named -------. She has the best luck getting through to Varakis when he's enraged and soothing his mind, she often cleans up his messes as well.

COMBAT
A berserker tank with a disassemblable great axe that splits into two hand axes. Ruthless, careless, relentless. Doesn't care for self-preservation and would willingly die in battle. Has had a few close calls.

GREATAXE/HANDAXES OF FATAL FURY

When you damage a creature with this weapon, if the attack's target has 20 or fewer hit points remaining, they are reduced to 0 hit points. Additionally, while there are at least 3 enemies within 5 feet of you, you can use your bonus action to make 2 attacks with this weapon.
Skillful: The bearer gains a +4 bonus to ability checks using one specific skill, of the GM’s choice, while the item is on the bearer’s person.

PERSONALITY
Varakis speaks loudly, usually, and sometimes in the third-person. He's over the top when it comes to telling tales of battle.
ERRATIC | LOUD | STRONG
When drunk, he gushes over his warlock party member to others. Lectures or dragged-out conversations try his patience. Often does things without a thought to what the consequences may be, example: Punching a guard for being lectured about the law and not being allowed to punch a stall owner because he ran out of pork.

TRIVIA
Can do a single magic trick: The one with the thumb
He's rather well-known in Avernus and has made recognition around Baldur's Gate
He used to do mercenary work once he came top-side
