Creideiki's neural implant had been repaired by Makanee and Gillian, so he could again operate a harness and other equipments. But damage to his speech centers was permanent. All he could manage was uttering few simple words.

While he could not resume duty as a captain due to his disabilities, he was kept abreast with status as a courtesy. This job fell to the linguist Sah'ot, who had to be sweet-talked into it by Gillian. (He's so predictable.)

The conversation drifted to how Sah'ot was hearing 'singing' from deep underground through an explorer drone, Creideiki immediately expressed interest in hearing it.

While Creideiki was in coma after his brain injury, he had a telepathic hallucination. So he suspected there may be telepathic lifeform residing on the planet Kithrup.

Sah'ot was delighted that finally someone took his discovery of deep underground singing seriously.
