Commission of a goddess monster for a Legend of Zelda theme based D&D campaign.

My talented client, Lumancer, based the design loosely on the Pols Voice monster from Zelda, shared here with his permission is his writing describing the scene of her first appearance, later to evolve into her more terrifying form:

“Staring numbly at the fire, your body barely responding to your movements, you watch as the dancing flames begin to swim in your vision, flickering in widening circles until everything you see is consumed in dancing gold and pulsing red.

But the gold is no longer flame, and the red is no longer spark. As you watch, detail begins to form: a sea of yellow fur, rippling, folding back in places around half-glimpsed swells of blood-gorged muscle with no apparent shape nor purpose.

You feel yourself drifting as the waves grow larger beneath you, cresting into whitecaps of cottony fluff that crash and vanish among the tufts of yellow. As the tide rushes onward, more solid features begin to rise from the depths: fractal towers of long, woven ears, mandalas of twisted, clawed paws, seaweed tangles of tendon and gut, and flotsam piles of tooth and bone.

Finally you find yourself at the center of it all, the twisted landscape slowly drifting around you, and the narrow gaze of an enormous rabbit skull trained unerringly upon you. It tilts slightly downward, angling the jaw in the faintest impression of a sinister grin.
