Description
Aquitaine class frigate are the new anti-submarine warfare units of the French navy. They replace the 9 frigates (type F67) class type Georges Leygues (ASW) and Cassard (AA).

they are significantly more efficient than their predecessors with a more substantial armament. Yet, as with the SNA type Barracuda, France is not up to the competition on some points such as weapons. but also the propulsion where our diplomatic weakness at the time the Italian side to get a better destroyer.

Between budgetary constraints and the need for fifteen senior frigates, I advocate to build at least 10 FREMM to meet the missions. For reasons of structural changes Aquitaine class 6 frigate would be equipped with a turret 76 mm as the main room. The last 4 FREMM will have a turret of 127 mm and form the Corsica-class slightly different.

The other big concern of French ships in general is the glaring absence of anti-missile defense system near. The generalization of Narwhal gun carriage of 20 mm caliber of the whole class is a minimum. Should ideally add a Oerlikon Millennium 35mm turret (or Thales RapidFire 40mmCT) on the stern slightly left of helicopter hangar (itself eccentric to right). However, it would ask too big project for the Aquitaine class.

In my alternate future, the weapons system changes with each complex overhaul (Indisponibilité Périodique pour Entretien et Réparation - IPER - in French).

the first phase will take place from 2025 it will see an evolution of the weapon system with:
- Modernizing the HERAKLES radar to make it able to use surface-to-air missile Aster 30
- The integration of Aster 30 and CAMM-ER missiles (Sea Ceptor) instead of the Aster 15
- The integration of fictional anti-submarine missiles Sylas nearby cruise missiles MdCN

In 2035-2040, there will be the launch of the second phase with:
- Modernization of a new radar system
- Replacement of Exocet MM40 to me by the Perseus CVS401 that could make shade for MdCN due to Sylas. then we would have 8 x Aster 30, 32 x CAMM-ER (4 per tube), 10 x CVS401 and
